Led by Christo, the two quickly passed through an iron gate and arrived at a huge public bathhouse. The walls and floor were covered in old-fashioned white square tiles, and golden morning light streamed in through a row of long windows high on the walls. Even without torches, the entire bathhouse was brightly lit.
This was one of the few rooms in the prison that was close to an exterior wall and had windows!
Christo placed the torch in a holder by the bathhouse entrance and led Alice inside.
She took a bath towel from the rack and handed it to Alice, then pressed the switch on one of the communal shower columns. After testing the water temperature with her hand, she looked up at Alice and smiled.
"It's a little cold, but a cold shower in the morning really wakes you up."
Alice reached out and tested the water. It was indeed a little cold, but she did not mind. Even without the T-Virus enhancements, her physique was strong enough that a cold shower would not make her sick. She could hardly wait to have a good, thorough wash!
"You go ahead. I'll wait outside."
With that, Christo turned and walked out, leaving Alice alone in the bathhouse.
After unfastening the weapons belt covered in all kinds of weapons and hanging it on another shower column within easy reach, Alice began taking off her tactical vest.
But just as she set the tactical vest down on a bench against the wall, a faint sound suddenly came from the direction of the shower room entrance.
Alice immediately froze and turned toward the source of the sound.
"Christo?"
Alice called out tentatively. No one answered. She immediately raised her voice and called again, but there was still no response.
