Background / History
Tang San's soul originated in another world, where he had been a Tang Sect disciple and learned its secret techniques. The Asura God later identifies him as the person he selected and brought into this world. 29 246
He grew up in Holy Spirit Village as Tang Hao's son. Tang Hao spent most of the household income on alcohol, leaving Tang San to cook for himself from the age of four; villagers occasionally helped him avoid hunger. 13 24
His circumstances changed after he awakened Innate Full Soul Power, Blue Silver Grass, and the Clear Sky Hammer. Tang Hao embraced him upon learning of the second martial soul and began viewing him as his means of avenging Ah Yin and restoring the Clear Sky Sect. 13
At Nuoding Academy, Yu Xiaogang became his teacher, recognized the Clear Sky Hammer, and directed his Blue Silver Grass toward a poison-based control path. Tang San obtained a Mandala Snake ring, giving his vines venomous binding properties. 17 20 21
Appearance
Tang San is slightly shorter than Qi Lin and wears a fitted blue outfit. His waist belt is inlaid with twenty-four gemstones and functions as a Soul Tool. 37
- Blue Silver Grass becomes blue-violet after his poison-type rings. 104
- Following his fourth ring and spirit-bone absorption, his Blue Silver Grass turns purplish-black and develops fine, barbed, spider-like tendrils. 190
- After Tang Hao's death, he conceals himself in tattered black robes and becomes visibly disheveled. 218 222
Personality
Tang San is intensely attached to family and master-disciple bonds. Despite Tang Hao's neglectful parenting, he reveres his father deeply; Tang Hao's death turns his resentment toward Spirit Hall into a vow of vengeance. He also regards Yu Xiaogang as a father figure and remains grateful for his teacher's concern. 201 209 218
He is competitive and easily shaken by the rapid advancement of Qi Lin and Xiao Wu, briefly doubting both his own Blue Silver Grass and Yu Xiaogang's theories. After Qi Lin decisively defeats him, his humiliation develops into a long-term desire for revenge. 38 104 105
Tang San is pragmatic and secretive in his pursuit of power. He conceals the life-force aspect of Devouring, rationalizes using it against those he considers evil, and later avoids detection by disguising himself while hunting Spirit Hall soul masters. 190 218
Abilities & Skills
Blue Silver Grass
A control-type martial soul developed through poison-oriented soul rings under Yu Xiaogang's direction. 17 21
- Blue Silver Bind — Produces thick vines that restrain opponents and carry Mandala Snake venom. 20 104
- His poison rings give the otherwise weak and fragile Blue Silver Grass offensive utility against opponents of a similar rank. 190
- The martial soul remains vulnerable to fire and ice and lacks the toughness to withstand direct attacks from similarly ranked assault-type soul masters. 190
- Its later barbed mutation can devour life force. 190
Clear Sky Hammer
Tang San's second martial soul and the source of his Twin Martial Soul potential. 13 17
- Tang Hao intends for Tang San eventually to attach high-level rings to the Clear Sky Hammer and restore the Clear Sky Sect's prestige. 190
- Tang San has not begun cultivating it, due to the danger of conflict between his two martial souls. 189 199
- Historical precedent indicates that adding a third ring to a second martial soul can cause a fatal martial-soul conflict. 189
Devouring
A skill obtained from the right-hand palm spirit bone dropped by the 4,300-year Man Faced Demon Spider. 190
- Devours an opponent's soul power in battle to replenish Tang San's own. 190
- Can also devour the life force of living beings, an ability Tang San initially hides from Tang Hao. 190
- Enables rapid cultivation through spirit beasts and Spirit Hall soul masters whom Tang San labels evil. 201 218 235
- Excessive reliance leaves his soul power unstable; at Level 62, he is assessed as potentially weaker than an ordinary Spirit Master of the same level. 245
- Its exposure could cause others to identify him as a Fallen Spirit Master. 190 241
Tang Sect Secret Skills
Techniques carried over from Tang San's previous life as a Tang Sect disciple. 67
- Purple Demon Eye — Enhances vision; even at the microscopic realm, it can only catch an afterimage of Qi Lin's movement. 104
- Mysterious Jade Hand — Turns his hands white as jade for combat. 104
- Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track — A movement technique used to evade stronger opponents; its sustained use is limited by his soul power. 104 245
- Controlling Crane Capturing Dragon — Generates a pulling force to manipulate objects at range. 106
- Mysterious Heaven Skill — Allows him to circulate and use soul power in ways comparable to his former world's inner power techniques. 67
Hidden Weapons and Poisons
Tang San extracts poison from poison-type soul beasts and uses the Strength Clan's materials and smithing resources to forge Tang Sect hidden weapons. 245

- Peacock Plume — His strongest documented mechanical hidden weapon. 245
- Poison-coated Tang Sect hidden weapons — Forged using ores and poison gathered from soul beasts. 245
Relationships
- Tang Hao — Father. Initially neglectful, later secretly protects and trains Tang San; Tang Hao's death becomes Tang San's central motive for revenge against Spirit Hall. 13 26 190 209
- Yu Xiaogang — Teacher and father figure. Guides Tang San's Blue Silver Grass development and remains determined to resolve the danger of his Twin Martial Souls. 17 38 201
- Qi Lin — Former schoolmate and escalating rival. Tang San resents Qi Lin's closeness to Xiao Wu and later vows eventual revenge after being overwhelmingly defeated. 20 104 105
- Xiao Wu — Nuoding Academy peer and frequent opponent. Tang San repeatedly challenges her but loses, and her rapid progress contributes to his self-doubt. 21 23 38
- Tang Yuehua — Aunt who searches for Tang San and Tang Hao and relays information about the Twin Martial Soul conflict. 199
- Titan — Loyal former subordinate of Tang Hao who recognizes Tang San as young master, pledges the Strength Clan to him, and assists his cultivation and survival. 222 223 235
- Asura God — The deity who selected Tang San and later saves him from Spirit Hall pursuers, restoring his severed limbs and injuries. 29 246
