Background / History

Xiao Wu was originally a young Hundred-Thousand-Year Shapeshifting Soul Beast living in the Star Dou Great Forest with her mother, Ah Rou. When Bibi Dong found the gravely injured Ah Rou and discovered Xiao Wu's soul-beast aura, Ah Rou offered herself as a sacrifice in exchange for Xiao Wu's life. Bibi Dong accepted the sacrifice and spared Xiao Wu. 215

She later entered human society under the cover story that her parents had been eaten by soul beasts. Xu Qian adopted her into the Qi family in Radish Village, where she became Qi Lin's younger adoptive sister. Though she presented herself as six years old, she privately resented being called the younger sibling because she had been the “big boss” among soul beasts. 1

Xiao Wu initially concealed her true identity even from Qi Lin. When Su Yuntao and Sisi planned a soul-hunting trip for the children, she panicked at the risk of being exposed and pretended to be ill; Qi Lin supported her excuse and let her remain behind. 6
