The Dominator Is Dead

Battle, devouring, absorption, recording, fusion, transformation... until it ultimately became incomparably powerful.

The Dominator's memories were just that plain and unadorned. It never needed to consider any complicated goals. Reproduction and growth were its only purposes.

Of course, there were also the commands issued by the Brain Bugs.

The Dominator thus passed endless ages in peace and security. The Zerg, too, evolved from several tiny insects on Planet Zerus into a powerful race spread across a quarter of the universe, with countless varieties and a population numbering in the hundreds of millions upon hundreds of millions.

They had even become one of the overlords of the universe.

Until one day, the Brain Bugs died. They were blasted apart by those damned Protoss using psionic energy, and the entire Zerg race fractured into pieces, never again having unified command.

The Insect Swarm needed a leader, a wise and powerful leader.

The Dominators began all kinds of experiments. Quite a few tried to draw wisdom from outside the Zerg, absorbing other intelligent races into their ranks.

The Dominators' greatest success was the Queen of Blades. She combined human wisdom, Protoss will, and a Zerg body. She was the most powerful supreme leader.

The Queen of Blades succeeded, but the Zerg failed. In the end, she relied on her own independent will to break away from the Zerg and vanish into the boundless universe.

After that, no Dominator considered drawing wisdom from outside again. Instead, they slowly accumulated spiritual power by absorbing the wisdom and will within the Insect Swarm, climbing toward the rank of Brain Bug.

The Insect Swarm's fragmentation had led to the emergence of far too many Dominators. Although they still could not control the entire Zerg territory, the competition was fierce enough.

Today, this Dominator encountered an unprecedented crisis.
