"We've failed, Feng. Taylor played us. Withdraw immediately."
Killing a robot was obviously meaningless.
Though unwilling to accept it, King Arthur still decided that preserving their strength came first and ordered a temporary retreat. There would be plenty of chances to assassinate Feng Taylor later.
The Wallbreaker suddenly said, "No, I'm staying. This operation can't end up meaning nothing."
"Don't be impulsive! There will always be another chance. There's no need to die here!"
The companion hiding in the shadows, preparing to retreat, anxiously warned him.
The Wallbreaker explained, "I'm a Wallbreaker. If I leave without doing anything now, those media outlets will be plastering headlines tomorrow about how the 'Wallfacer defeated ETO.' The organization will not only become a laughingstock in public opinion, but it will also boost humanity's morale."
"But we still don't know Feng Taylor's real plan..."
The companion hidden in the darkness trailed off.
In truth, ETO had not come to break Lin Feng's wall this time. Wallbreaking was merely an excuse; their real purpose was to lure him out and assassinate him.
Making them actually break Lin Feng's plan now would clearly mean they were utterly unprepared.
"The point isn't the plan. It's striking at the Wallfacer. We don't know the Wallfacer Plan Feng Taylor has hidden, and neither can anyone else. As long as people believe what I say, Feng Taylor will still inevitably suffer a public backlash, and the Wallfacer Plan will be affected as well," the Wallbreaker replied with a cold laugh.
Everyone knew that the Wallfacers were meant to mislead and deceive the entire world.
So what would happen if a Wallbreaker did not break the wall at all, but instead smeared the Wallfacer's existing plans?
Would humanity believe him, the Wallbreaker, or Feng Taylor, the Wallfacer?
