Background / History

Founding and Black Corner Region expansion

Xiao Bai takes control of Mingyue Mountain and retains its existing management structure before renaming his faction the Bright Cult. The name reflects his Light attribute and his stated ideal of joining sun and moon into a light that can dispel darkness and bring hope. 202

The Cult initially expands through coercion, resource seizure, and the deterrent of Hai Bodong's Dou Emperor strength. Golden Gate's leader, Lu Renyi, is compelled to join and surrender ninety percent of his faction's wealth; the Cult then absorbs resources and personnel from further local forces. 204 205

After taking Skeleton City from the Black Skull Tomb, the Cult renames it White City and restores order there. Its rapid conquest alarms the Black Corner Region's established powers, which begin investigating whether the new faction intends to continue expanding. 212

The Cult's “Fishing Operation” infiltrates rival organizations over six months by capturing key figures, placing them under control, and using them as internal assets. This strategy leaves enemy factions unable to organize resistance when the Cult attacks. 226 227 232
