Background / History

Jiaming is a reborn assassin who awakens in the body of a ten-year-old boy in Jianghai. His parents had eloped because his father refused to become a live-in son-in-law for the Huang family; both died in a landslide shortly after his birth. The Huangs took him in, but regarded him as an embarrassing outsider, leaving him vulnerable to ridicule and bullying from relatives. 3

After regaining the body, Jiaming initially feigns amnesia, deafness, and muteness while he assesses his circumstances. He secretly resumes assassin training at three in the morning, though his young body is initially too weak to safely handle a firearm’s recoil. 3

The Ye family becomes his closest refuge. Ye Lingjing had defended him from childhood, while Ye Han and Duan Jingxian had once wanted to adopt him. Jiaming spends much of his time at their martial arts school and begins formal training under Ye Han during winter break. 3

He later reveals that his life changed when he encountered two Peiluojia assassins while running away from home in 1991; both assassins died in that encounter. 298
