Over the following period, Jie Ning devoted most of his energy to research in this area.
In the blink of an eye, three months had passed.
On this day, Jie Ning rarely left his newly opened experimental field, leaving only the Death God Avatar to observe the changes in the soul—for sensitivity in this regard, the Death Rule surpassed the Life Rule.
Korur entered the hall of the Hall of Life with someone in tow.
"Jie Ning, this is His Highness Dinarl." Korur slung an arm around the purple-haired man beside him as he introduced him.
Dinarl was clearly accustomed to Korur's enthusiasm; he simply looked at Jie Ning and greeted him solemnly, "Hello, Jie Ning. First time meeting—sorry for the intrusion."
"You're too kind, Your Highness Dinarl." Jie Ning replied politely.
"So, have the two of you made your decision?" Setting down his tea, Jie Ning asked them seriously.
"We've discussed it. Since we've already decided to take a gamble in the Supreme Plane," Korur said with a grave expression, "then naturally we need to be fully prepared."
"Right, Dinarl?" As he spoke, Korur nudged Dinarl with his elbow.
"Korur, I'm not deaf." Dinarl shot Korur an annoyed look first, then turned to Jie Ning.
"We truly can't bear to give up the chance to strengthen our souls," Dinarl said, his tone carrying a hint of embarrassment. "So we have to trouble you, Jie Ning."
"In that case, please follow me, both of you." Jie Ning nodded to them and gestured for them to come along.
The group left the City of Life, and Jie Ning led them to an open plain.
"What do you two think of this place?" Jie Ning asked.
"I'm fine with anything." Korur glanced around casually.
"This place is excellent." Dinarl expressed no objections.
"Then let's go down."
The three descended to the ground. Jie Ning looked at them and tossed each a Space Ring.
Catching the rings, Korur turned to Jie Ning. "So, what do we need to do first?"
Dinarl also watched Jie Ning with a serious expression.
Jie Ning smiled faintly, then took out a seed as a demonstration. "I've prepared various plant seeds in the Space Rings I gave you. For the first step, just inject your Soul Power into them like this."
These seeds were already a modified version Jie Ning had created, with strong soul-holding capacity, specially cultivated to lower the difficulty.
"Not too much—just control it to this amount." Jie Ning held up the seed he had already processed to show them.
"Once you succeed, just give the seeds back to me."
Korur and Dinarl bound the Space Rings to themselves, took out seeds, and imitated Jie Ning's actions.
It wasn't very difficult, and they succeeded quickly.
"Done." The two handed the seeds back to Jie Ning.
Taking the seeds from them, Jie Ning manipulated them to connect the injected Soul Power with the seeds' own souls.
Korur marveled as he sensed that, under Jie Ning's operation, the Soul Power in that seed had merged with a soul so faint it was nearly imperceptible. Yet his Soul Power still belonged to him—he could directly reclaim that bit of power at any time.
Dinarl naturally felt the same, though he didn't have as many thoughts as Korur; he simply watched Jie Ning's work intently.
Even though he couldn't understand it at all.
On the other side, Korur had a feeling. 'This ability seems like it could be used for more than just nurturing souls.'
But he didn't say anything more.
Practice makes perfect. Jie Ning had now mastered this step thoroughly.
Soon, having completed the process, Jie Ning planted the two seeds.
Channeling divine power, he spurred germination, growth...
Korur and Dinarl clearly sensed that faint soul begin to change—subtle, but indeed a little stronger.
'It really works.' Both could barely contain their excitement.
Two tiny sprouts replaced the seeds in their respective spots, and the two men gazed at the sprouts as if they were lovers.
At this point, Jie Ning stopped his divine power and looked at them. "For now, that's the basic procedure for the early stage. The rest will be left to time."
"You two just need to inject Soul Power into the seeds, and I'll handle the rest." Jie Ning smiled at them. "Once the plants mature, I'll sever the connection between the plant's own soul and the external Soul Power."
"At that point, you just need to reclaim your respective Soul Power."
"During this time, I'll stay here with you both."
Having personally experienced the change in Soul Power, Korur sighed to Jie Ning, "This is truly incredible. But I'll still have to trouble you in the days ahead."
Beside him, Dinarl was silent for a moment, then suddenly looked at Korur. "I'm thinking I won't head to the Supreme Plane for now."
"What's wrong?" Korur felt completely baffled.
Dinarl ignored Korur's confusion and instead turned to look at Jianing. "After this, I am willing to follow you for five hundred years as repayment. During that time, I will fully obey your commands."
Having said that, Dinarl walked to the side and began taking out seeds, busying himself.
Jianing was somewhat slow to react, his face full of surprise.
"Dinarl, you..." Korur's expression was complicated as he glanced at his old friend a few times, then he too turned to look at Jianing.
Looking at Korur, Jianing was about to say something. "His Highness Korur..."
Korur stopped Jianing. "Jianing, you don't need to say anything more."
"And don't try to persuade Dinarl. I know his temper. Even if you refuse him, he'll just find a place nearby to settle down, waiting for your orders at any time, until the five-hundred-year term is up..." Korur said with a bitter smile.
"This..." Jianing didn't know what to say.
As if he could read Jianing's thoughts, "I won't be like Dinarl..."
"I can't do what Dinarl has done," Korur said, flames seeming to burn in his eyes. "I've already spent over a thousand years living a dull life on the Bana Continent. I can't bear it any longer."
"I've long since made up my mind. I'm definitely going to the Supreme Plane." Korur's gaze was resolute.
Jianing understood his thoughts. Putting himself in Korur's shoes, he wasn't sure he could endure a thousand years either.
"According to fragments left behind from past Overgod descents, legend says that Hell in the Supreme Plane was created by the Destruction Supreme God—the supreme deity of heaven and earth."
Korur looked at Jianing and suddenly swore, "I swear to the Destruction Supreme God that if we ever meet again in the future, I will do anything for Jianing Dalut three times, valid forever."
The moment the words fell, Korur vaguely felt that some force had acknowledged the oath.
Jianing was too late to stop him and felt a headache coming on.
With matters settled, Jianing could only look helplessly at Korur. "Why must the two of you go this far?"
"Lord Jianing, just call me Dinarl from now on," Dinarl suddenly said from the side, seemingly focused on infusing seeds with his soul.
"Jianing, don't take it too seriously." After making the oath, Korur felt much lighter and teased, "I just exploited a loophole. Given your growth rate, maybe when we meet again, I'll only be good for running errands for you."
"Sigh, you two really are..." Jianing sighed. He had only wanted to do a good deed.
"But, Your Highness Dinarl..."
"Call me Dinarl, Lord Jianing..." Dinarl corrected.
"Fine, Dinarl." Seeing the seriousness in Dinarl's eyes, Jianing relented. "But you should just call me Jianing directly too."
Seeing that Dinarl wanted to say more, Jianing quickly added a few words, his tone firm. "Let's communicate normally, or I absolutely won't need your help."
Seeing Jianing's attitude, Dinarl no longer insisted and could only nod. "Alright, Jianing."
Korur sighed. "With Dinarl's stubborn temper, if it weren't for the fact that we were the only two God-levels back then, how could there have been a Dinar Empire?"
"Being forcibly crowned by a bunch of guys who couldn't stand me but couldn't beat me, founding Dinar..."
"Since you've settled things with Dinarl, don't call me 'Your Highness' anymore either. It sounds uncomfortable." Korur deliberately shivered as he spoke.
"Alright, Korur... you two should get on with the real work." Jianing agreed. Sure enough, anyone who could get along with Dalut wasn't a proper person.
Korur nodded with satisfaction and walked to the side, starting to busy himself as well.
And so, Jianing's God of Life Divine Avatar stayed by the side to help the two complete the remaining steps, occasionally returning to his experimental field to check on progress.
His main body, meanwhile, returned to the cultivation room to focus wholeheartedly on training.
As time flowed by, the original plain was gradually covered by a forest.
