Background / History

Ancient records describe the original Jianmu as a naturally divine being whose soul was annihilated twenty trillion years earlier. Its enemies shattered and scattered its remaining body across the Immortal Realm, then spread cultivation methods encouraging others to refine the fragments so they could not reunite and restore Jianmu’s innate status. 362

Han Yuan obtains a processed fragment by requesting the “ancient secret path” from the Inheritance Crystal three times. Refining it reveals the purpose of the Ancient Wood Nourishing Spirit Art and its supporting arts: they were designed to hide a cultivator’s aura, recover spiritual power, and supply the enormous Spiritual Sense cost of bearing a Jianmu Fragment. 59

The fragment collapses into the Jianmu Seed, which Han Yuan plants at the center of his Dantian. During his Golden Core breakthrough, a youth-like consciousness awakens within the seed and seeks to control Han Yuan’s body to ascend to the Immortal Realm. 59 167 Han Yuan’s soul later merges with the sprouted Jianmu; the awakened remnant soul perishes, while its knowledge and insights are absorbed. Jianmu’s form changes radically with its growth, from a patterned seed to an immense world-bearing tree.
