Sect Building Design

After Xiao Yun finished drawing the designs for the seven swords and finished designing the diagram for the Big Dipper Array, as well as the seven Flying Swords representing the Big Dipper, he turned to the next page and began combining it with the Big Dipper Array to design the sect's buildings.

Mountain gate: the sect's face. It had to be towering. It had to be solemn. It had to make anyone who came see at a glance—this was no ordinary place. On either side of the mountain gate, two stone lions had to be erected. The stone lions did not need to be too tall, but they had to have presence. Crouching there, eyes bright and piercing, as if they might pounce at any moment.

Chore Servant Courtyard: the place where non-cultivating disciples lived. Though they were not cultivating disciples, they were still members of the sect. Their lodgings could not be too crude, could not be too crowded, and could not make them feel inferior to others.

Reception Courtyard: the place for receiving guests. When guests came, they could not be allowed to stay in shabby houses. The Reception Courtyard had to be clean, orderly, and elegant. It needed independent courtyards, a dedicated kitchen, and a hall for receiving visitors.

Outer Disciple Courtyard: the place where outer disciples lived. Outer disciples were the foundation of the sect. Their lodgings could not be too poor, could not make them feel the sect did not value them. But they also could not be too good, could not make them think cultivation was an easy thing.

Inner Disciple Courtyard: inner disciples were the future of the sect. They were qualified to live in better places. Independent small courtyards, quiet Cultivation Rooms, private receiving halls. These were all what they deserved.
