Background

Di Tian formerly served as the Dragon God’s guard and had once been a First Level God. He also personally met the Angel God, whose work preserving peace and eliminating Evil Soul Beasts he acknowledges as beneficial to both races 65 71 179.

Qian Daoliu identifies him with the black dragon ruler recorded in ancient texts inherited from the Angel God. Although Di Tian commands the Star Dou Great Forest’s Ferocious Beasts, he remains subordinate to Gu Yuena, the Silver Dragon King, whom he addresses as his lord 71 229 234.

Appearance

Di Tian has a Golden Eyed Black Dragon form and a black-haired human form 65 69.

  • Dragon form: Golden vertical pupils and an oppressive presence that makes other Soul Beasts instinctively want to submit 65.
  • Human form: Black hair, a cold and aloof expression, and a habit of standing with his hands behind his back 69 71.
  • Clothing: Wears minimally ornamented black clothing at Spirit Hall’s banquet; his bearing is compared to that of an aristocrat 73.
  • Physique: Muscular and physically resilient, as shown during his prolonged close-combat match against Sea God Poseidon 252 253.

Personality

Di Tian is proud, authoritative, and initially distrustful of humans. He interprets the Soul Beasts’ defense of Ratio as betrayal and uses Dragon Might to intimidate them. His suspicion is not limited to hostility toward humanity: he worries that a scholar vastly more intelligent than the Soul Beasts could mislead them without their realizing it 65 66.

He respects exceptional scholarship and becomes more cautious after recognizing Ratio’s overwhelming strength. His confidence in Ratio eventually grows strong enough for him to defend Ratio’s intentions before Gu Yuena and openly challenge the God-Kings’ treatment of Soul Beasts 69 203 234.

The survival of his race drives both his diplomacy and his willingness to take risks. He undertakes the first Divine Boat test launch himself, refuses Bi Ji’s offer to accompany him, and argues that Soul Beasts cannot depend on Ratio forever. After humans and Soul Beasts jointly celebrate his return, he more fully embraces peaceful coexistence 193 201 204.

His loyalty to Gu Yuena can make him evasive. Rather than embarrass her, he delays revealing that Ratio’s Heavenly Essence Skill greatly outperforms her revised Mysterious Heaven Skill. This allows her misunderstanding to deepen and ultimately leaves him apologizing for withholding the truth 239 250 251.

Abilities & Skills

Dragon Might

Di Tian releases oppressive Dragon Might capable of overwhelming powerful Soul Beasts 65.

  • Makes the Titan Giant Ape and Sky Azure Bull Python tremble and slows their thoughts 65.
  • His presence inspires instinctive submission from the surrounding Soul Beasts 65.
  • Spirit Hall elders above rank ninety-five cannot clearly gauge his strength when he arrives in human form 71.

Physical Combat

Di Tian possesses exceptional durability and close-combat strength 252 253.

  • Fights Sea God Poseidon for an hour in the martial arts tournament despite the suppression of Soul Power and godly power 253.
  • Overdraws his body’s potential to unleash greater force as the match continues 253.
  • His endurance remains inferior to Poseidon’s divine recovery; the prolonged fight increasingly favors the Sea God 253.
  • As a demigod, helps resist an energy storm weakened to the equivalent of an ordinary Third Level God’s attack 255.

Human Transformation and Spatial Rifts

Di Tian can assume human form and open a spatial fissure 69 229.

  • Transforms into a black-haired man within a glow of black light 69.
  • Draws a black fissure through the air to communicate with his hidden lord 229.
  • At Spirit Hall’s banquet, only Titled Douluo can recognize that he is a Soul Beast 73.

Soul Tool Engineering

Di Tian is one of the Soul Beasts most capable of following Ratio’s technical instruction 177.

  • Independently assembles a Third Level offensive Soul Tool on his first attempt 179.
  • Receives instruction on reducing wasted power and improving force application rather than simply increasing energy input 179.
  • Designs numerous Soul Tool models displayed in the Soul Beast Alliance’s office 209.
  • Consults Ratio on Divine Boat construction and personally tests a craft capable of reaching beyond Douluo Star’s atmosphere 198 202.

Leadership and Diplomacy

Di Tian represents the Soul Beasts in negotiations and directs their integration into human society 73 95 234.

  • Accelerates negotiations by threatening to attack an uncooperative empire with a Beast Tide while assisting the other 95.
  • Organizes a merchant group to develop large Flight Soul Tools for long-distance human transportation 209.
  • Requires arriving Soul Beast clan leaders to learn transformation, laws, and the rules of Spirit City 239.
  • Later insists on voluntary recruitment rather than forcing Soul Beasts to join his faction 275.

Equipment & Inventions

  • Dragon God Claw — An ability or asset Di Tian cites as assurance that he can survive the dangerous Divine Boat test flight; its mechanics are not explained in the provided passages 201.
  • Black Dragon Claw — A jet-black, Third Level offensive Soul Tool he creates. It combines durability, sharpness, and electric shock properties, opens and closes through a button, and can be operated by an ordinary person. Di Tian demonstrates tearing and splitting rock without using his own Soul Power 179.
  • Soul Tool Divine Boat — A spaceflight craft built with Ratio’s guidance. Its first test configuration has nine sections powered by Soul Power storage “milk bottles”; spent sections detach to reduce weight. Hull damage occurs during ascent, and the passenger section crashes back onto the continent, but Di Tian survives 198 202 203.

Story Role / Major Arcs

Awakening and Encounter with Ratio

A terrifying fluctuation awakens the Ferocious Beasts. Di Tian sends Scarlet King to investigate, explicitly ordering him to avoid conflict because the source may be god-level 56.

After Ratio restrains Scarlet King, Di Tian arrives with the other Ferocious Beasts. He initially condemns the Soul Beasts for siding with a human, but their refusal to abandon Ratio and Bi Ji’s testimony prompt him to reconsider. He questions Ratio about self-produced Soul Rings while remaining wary of the risks 65 66.

The Three-Eyed Golden Lion’s eagerness to become Ratio’s assistant creates a new problem. Di Tian objects to her leaving the forest and agrees to accompany Ratio himself. After witnessing further evidence of Ratio’s power, he departs with Ratio and Xie Yue 68 69.

Peace Negotiations at Spirit Hall

Ratio introduces Di Tian to Qian Daoliu as the Soul Beasts’ representative. Spirit Hall subsequently holds a lavish banquet at which Di Tian publicly takes part in the proposed peace process 71 73.

His diplomacy remains confrontational when he believes his race is being insulted. He threatens Yu Xiaogang over slander against Soul Beasts and Ratio, clashes with Bibi Dong, and later corroborates Xie Yue’s account of Ratio’s achievements 76 78 79.

Negotiations extend to both empires. Di Tian uses the threat of a Beast Tide to push them toward cooperation and travels to the Heaven Dou Empire for further discussions. He also requires Zi Ji to apologize to Bibi Dong for her earlier attack 95 111.

Heavenly Tribulations and Technical Independence

Di Tian learns that the gods have increased the difficulty of Soul Beast Heavenly Tribulations and closed the God Realm to them. He relays this news to the Ferocious Beasts, who see almost no prospect of attaining godhood 163.

The rescue of Bi Ji during her tribulation strengthens his respect for human allies, particularly Sword Douluo. Nevertheless, Ratio declines Di Tian’s request to intervene directly against the gods’ discrimination 168 172.

Di Tian turns toward technological solutions. After distinguishing himself in Ratio’s Soul Tool lessons, he argues that Soul Beasts must seek their own path rather than rely indefinitely on Ratio’s protection 179 193.

First Flight into the Cosmos

Di Tian personally undertakes the Divine Boat’s first test launch. Despite structural failures, he reaches space and sees Douluo Star as a water-blue planet surrounded by darkness 201 202.

When the Five Great God-Kings and Sea God Poseidon enter the boat’s space, he condemns their persecution of Soul Beasts and challenges their willingness to offend Ratio. He returns injured but alive, becoming the first lifeform from Douluo Star to “open his eyes and see the world” 203 204.

Both humans and Soul Beasts celebrate him. Even Bear Monarch acknowledges his contribution, while Di Tian recognizes the possibility of genuine harmony between the races 204.

Merchant Group and Urban Integration

Di Tian develops the Soul Beast Alliance’s merchant group around transportation technology. He later proposes both greater investment in Divine Boats and closer integration with humanity, obtaining Gu Yuena’s approval for his plan 209 228 229.

He welcomes more than fifty Soul Beast clan kings into Spirit City and arranges their registration, housing, transformation training, and education in local laws. His stated aim is to make Soul Beasts inseparable from the human world, strengthening their prospects of long-term survival 233 234 239.

Martial Arts Tournament and the God Realm’s Promise

Di Tian oversees the Soul Beasts’ participation in the World’s First Martial Arts Tournament and rewards them after more than eighty percent of their ten thousand entrants pass the first round. Meanwhile, Gu Yuena’s insistence on teaching her revised techniques conflicts with his preference for Ratio’s methods 245 247.

His match against Sea God Poseidon ends catastrophically when the sealing array fails and Poseidon instinctively summons his trident, shattering Di Tian’s heart. The Goddess of Life saves him and gives him a stronger heart 253.

Di Tian places greater importance on the resulting political breakthrough than on the match: the God of Destruction formally promises that the God Realm will stop targeting Soul Beasts, provided their ascension does not cause widespread harm. Di Tian and Poseidon both forfeit 253.

Shortly afterward, Di Tian joins Gu Yuena and the other Ferocious Beasts in defending Spirit City against the Golden Dragon King’s energy storm 255.

Godhood and Later Conflicts

During the subsequent era, Di Tian and the other Ferocious Beasts become god-level. Their transportation aircraft operate in nearly every major city, although conflict grows between Gu Yuena’s followers and the Golden Dragon King’s Beast God Temple 264.

When the worlds merge, no second Di Tian appears: projected duplicates of beings already present dissolve into energy that returns to their original bodies. Di Tian later maintains Gu Yuena’s instruction not to force recruits into their faction 270 275.

Following Tang Hao’s attacks on Scarlet King and Ah Yin, Di Tian leads the arriving Merchant Group Beast Gods, identifies Tang Hao as responsible, and agrees that they must seek their lord’s intervention. The Golden Dragon King pledges continued cooperation against the shared threat 310.

Relationships

  • Ratio — Teacher and principal human ally. Their relationship develops from suspicion into technical mentorship and strong confidence in Ratio’s fairness and strength 66 179 234.
  • Gu Yuena — Lord and superior. Di Tian reports developments to her, seeks approval for major plans, and struggles to balance her pride with the Soul Beasts’ practical needs 229 239 247 251.
  • Three-Eyed Golden Lion — Cherished Emperor Auspicious Beast under his protection. He initially prevents her departure but later accepts her presence in Spirit City once its security reassures him 67 68 233.
  • Bi Ji — Trusted fellow Ferocious Beast. He refuses to risk her life on his test flight; she worries about his safety and summons Ratio when Poseidon critically injures him 201 203 253.
  • Bear Monarch — Contentious fellow Ferocious Beast. Their disagreements persist, but Bear Monarch openly recognizes Di Tian’s courage and contribution after the spaceflight 204.
  • Qian Daoliu — Diplomatic counterpart who introduces him to Spirit Hall’s leadership and helps negotiate peace with the empires 71 73 95.
  • Sea God Poseidon — Fellow student of Ratio and tournament opponent. Di Tian initially distrusts him, then accepts his friendliness; their match nearly kills Di Tian when the suppression array fails 198 253.
  • Bibi Dong — Initially confrontational counterpart who protects Yu Xiaogang from him; later cooperates in welcoming and accommodating Soul Beasts in Spirit City 76 233 234.
  • Xiao Bai — Invited into the Soul Beast Alliance after Di Tian stops the Evil Orca King from berating her. He asks her to share any path that could give other Soul Beasts hope 209.
  • Tang Hao — Enemy following the attacks on Scarlet King and Ah Yin. Di Tian considers his strength beyond their ability to suppress without their lord’s help 310.
