Background & History

Ning Yulin is one of five individuals produced by a shared transmigration and divided soul. He began as Ning Fengzhi's sixth son in the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect, initially possessing only Innate Rank 2 soul power and a partially manifested Two Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda. Exposure to the shared space restored the pagoda to seven levels, giving him a foundation to pursue unconventional research into martial-soul development. 2

Rather than accept the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda's traditional support role, Ning Yulin deliberately shattered his martial soul and absorbed a spirit ring while it was damaged. The attempt nearly killed him, but it allowed him to change the nature of his spirit abilities and opened a path that Ning Fengzhi described as one few people could replicate. He pursued an alliance with Dugu Bo by offering methods to manage Dugu Yan's innate poison. Ning Yulin is analytical, ambitious, and intensely results-oriented. He studies spirit-beast theory, martial-soul evolution, medicine, forging materials, and cultivation techniques, often treating established doctrine as a problem to be tested rather than a rule to follow. His knowledge of spirit beasts allowed him to advise Tang Yin and Tianrui on ring selection, while his experiments repeatedly created new applications for the Glazed Tile Pagoda. 5 10 33
