Looking at the wretched state of the surrounding ground, Yamata instinctively felt uncomfortable.
The lead head let out a roar to call for his brothers, then was the first to open his maw and begin spewing Magma Breath.
The scorching magma breath covered the earth, and even the slightest contact was enough to wipe away the pollution brought by Shangang.
The natural restorative ability of a Titan Beast appeared in the world for the first time since Yamata had awakened.
In the past, when faced with land polluted by monsters, humanity's approach was to dig three feet deep, shovel out all the contaminated soil, and discard it in uninhabited areas.
It wasn't that methods of purification didn't exist, but the procedures were overly complex and cost far too much.
Going through all that trouble was less practical than simply building a couple more mechs!
But Titan Beasts were different. On the land they walked upon, anything they found displeasing would be "cleaned" away.
This also included human architecture.
Although the destruction of human buildings would occur, by the following spring, nature and greenery would once again favor this land!
On the other side, the Beast King Godzilla's breath-whipping had reached its end.
Shangang's vitality was somewhat beyond the Beast King's expectations.
This monster clearly hadn't had much power to resist when facing him and had been beaten to a pulp, which showed that having such a massive body size did not necessarily mean one was skilled at fighting.
However, in inverse proportion to her weak combat ability was her vitality.
From the initial violent struggles to the final unnatural twitching of her body, it was clear that this King of Monsters was not yet completely dead.
But the Beast King would not leave her any chance for a "spring breeze to bring life anew."
The power of his breath increased once more, and the duration had already far exceeded his usual limit. It had already deducted twenty minutes of action duration from the Beast King, yet Godzilla did not waver.
It wasn't until Shangang was completely still that the Beast King finally closed his mouth. A plume of exhaust with a charred smell was expelled from his nostrils and throat, lasting for quite a while—a testament to his foul breath.
Turning his head to look, he discovered that Yamata was in the middle of purifying the environment. Godzilla didn't stand on ceremony and let out a roar toward him.
Little brother, purify the corpse of this King of Monsters as well. This is the true source of the pollution; it must be cleaned up thoroughly.
Yamata, at the Beast King's call, walked over to his side somewhat reluctantly.
His eight heads looked at the massive pile of Shangang's corpse, feeling both nauseated and a lingering sense of fear.
Shangang had been blasted into a wretched state by the breath attacks, looking like a pile of riddled, rotting flesh slumped on the ground. Green venom mixed with blue, toxic blood, oozing out in a truly gruesome sight.
"Roar."
The Beast King let out a urging growl.
Only then did Yamata reluctantly stretch out all eight of his heads, opening his mouths to spew Magma Breath, covering Shangang's corpse layer by layer.
As the magma spread over every part of Shangang's body, it emitted a series of crackling, popping sounds upon contact, indicating a violent reaction between the two.
If Shangang were still alive, Yamata, in his current state, would certainly have been unable to bury and conceal her with magma.
But now, it was merely a test of his magma reserves, so there was no issue at all.
After spewing forcefully for a while, two of the eight heads stopped, leaving the remaining six to continue the strenuous output.
Those two heads, now motionless, had already begun to struggle to keep their eyelids open.
When Beast King Godzilla had headed to Mount Fuji last time, it was these two heads that had been fast asleep; even now, they were the first to run out of steam.
"It seems these two heads haven't fully recovered yet. They get weak as soon as the consumption spikes."
Godzilla thought to himself:
"Yamata has been sleeping in the volcanic magma of Mount Fuji, likely to accumulate strength and recover his state, but I woke him up halfway through, so he didn't get a good rest."
"After hearing my call, he followed without a second thought. He really is a competent and loyal little brother!"
The Beast King felt quite moved for a moment, then urged Yamata to put in a little more effort—the job would be done soon, and he could rest!
From now on, Yamata, you are my go-getter little brother!
At the Sakura Island Mecha Base, Old Luo and Dr. Chen were still watching remotely.
Behind them stood a crowd, including members of the Command Center, the Analysis Department, the Data Department, and the four pilots who hadn't gone to the front lines.
Watching Beast King Godzilla dispose of Shangang as easily as slicing vegetables on the big screen, everyone felt a sense of stunned disbelief.
Although Dr. Chen had concluded, based on the Beast King's high intelligence, that he must have had the confidence to succeed when he first set off toward Malaysia, they never could have imagined what kind of "confidence" this actually meant.
They had imagined a grand battle lasting three hundred rounds, continuing for three days and three nights.
They had even envisioned the fight spanning from the main region of Malaysia to another island sector, then from that sector to the neighboring Philippines, until it tore through the entire island chain!
They had pictured the traces of the battle between the Beast King and the King of Monsters spreading from Malaysia all the way to the Philippines, with no telling how much more of Shangang's toxic blood would be spilled along the way, polluting the environment even further.
The Beast King should have ultimately secured a hard-fought victory with the help of Yamata and the human mechs—that was the script worthy of Shangang's status as the King of Monsters. It would have been so prestigious!
As a result... this is it?
Is Shangang really that fragile?
"It's not that Shangang is fragile, it's that Godzilla is too strong!"
Dr. Chen kept her eyes locked on the large screen, her lips moving as she spoke:
"All this time! All this time! We have underestimated the strength of the Beast King Godzilla!"
"We thought we had overestimated the Beast King as much as possible, but the facts are right before our eyes, and they speak louder than words—we still underestimated him!"
Dr. Chen let the series of battle records since the Beast King's appearance flash through her mind, and she slowly explained:
"From the initial Scythe Head to the later Thunder Beast and Otter Bull, Beast King Godzilla solved them all with ease. This led us to a misunderstanding—that the Beast King was merely at the level of a King of Monsters, capable of easily defeating ordinary monsters."
"But we were wrong, we were all wrong! The Beast King's body density is definitely much greater than any of us imagined, at least far exceeding that of Shangang, this King of Monsters!"
"And then there is the Beast King's strength. We once built a model, and based on the Beast King's short arms, we judged that such a body structure was not suitable for melee combat, or at least that he would be at a great disadvantage in terms of physical strength!"
"But clearly, we were wrong again. Perhaps the Beast King's strength attribute isn't actually outstanding, but that's only when compared to his other aspects!"
"Judging by the fact that Godzilla could rip off Shangang's arm, his strength attribute is undoubtedly maxed out as well!"
"And the most suffocating and incredible aspect, naturally, is the Beast King's breath..."
Dr. Chen took a deep breath and continued:
"The monsters the Beast King killed before were all instantly killed by his Charged Breath, but it is clear that the power of the Charged Breath goes far beyond that. Now, seeing Shangang's body pierced through by a single breath..."
"Clearly, it's not that the monsters the Beast King killed before were too fragile, but that the Beast King is truly too powerful!"
Subsequently, Dr. Chen's eyes shifted, and she pointed to Yamata, who was showing a few of his heads at the edge of the battlefield:
"In fact, we have also far underestimated the strength of Yamata!"
Lin Wange asked:
"How can you be so sure, Dr. Chen? Are you saying that even Yamata's strength is greater than Shangang's?"
Dr. Chen shook her head:
"No one has ever seen Yamata in his prime, so I dare not make such a claim."
"But the Yamata before us is undoubtedly in a weakened state!"
"Yamata is a Titan Beast that lives in the volcanic depths of Mount Fuji. He is naturally fond of fire and heat and is a pure terrestrial Titan Beast. Traveling thousands of miles across the ocean to reach Malaysia—that in itself is a form of weakening!"
"Also, look, two of Yamata's eight heads are clearly in a lethargic state. It's obvious his strength hasn't fully recovered yet!"
Finally, Dr. Chen looked at Old Luo and spoke:
"General Luo, I request that we raise the power classification for all Titan Beasts by one level. Their strength far exceeds our previous expectations!"
Old Luo's right hand trembled slightly; this was a lingering effect from his days of piloting mechs under high-load conditions.
He took out a pack of Zhongnanhai Cigarettes, but remembering the many people in the room, he decided against subjecting them to secondhand smoke. He simply weighed the pack in his right hand and replied to Dr. Chen:
"Report it up. Report all of it up!"
Then, Old Luo pointed his left finger at a scene on the screen and asked:
"What is Yamata doing now?"
Dr. Chen watched as Yamata spat out magma to bury Shangang's corpse, and she said thoughtfully:
"This reminds me of how we usually sort our trash before throwing it away... Is Yamata burying his trash on the spot?"
Humans burying trash on the spot? Not acceptable.
Titan Beasts burying trash on the spot? Acceptable!
However, watching the Magma Breath spat out by Yamata on the big screen begin to grow thin, everyone deeply felt a somewhat strange atmosphere.
Yamata, your stamina isn't up to par.
062. The One with Stamina Has Arrived! (3)
Yamata had been summoned by Godzilla to face a powerful enemy before he had even recovered his state, so it was no surprise he was showing signs of exhaustion.
The Beast King reached out his short arms and patted Yamata's head, letting out a low growl:
"It's no big deal. Get some good rest; I'll still need you to put in the effort later."
Yamata let out a soft hiss in response, seemingly having understood the Beast King's reassurance.
He stretched his body out and lay down on the layer of magma he had just spat out, appearing ready to rest on the spot for a while.
After crossing the ocean to reach Malaysia, he hadn't stopped for a single moment, and he had even exhausted all the reserves he had been building up for so long.
Even a donkey on a production team wouldn't work this hard. He couldn't take it anymore; he had to rest immediately.
But before Yamata could lie down for long, his lead head suddenly shot up, turned toward the direction of the sea, and let out a dissatisfied hiss.
"Hmm? Another monster?"
The Beast King was surprised, as he hadn't detected any unusual aura from the monster.
In the past, whenever he caught the scent of a monster, he could always lock onto an unforgettable, foul stench—much like rotting shrimp in a sewer—truly putrid.
His first instinct upon smelling that stench wasn't to avoid it, but to immediately hunt it down and destroy it; he was, to put it mildly, extremely irritable.
Of course, Yamata did not have that scent.
What Godzilla smelled on Yamata was a scorching, slightly charred aroma; someone who enjoyed barbecue might even find the smell pleasant.
But now, as the Beast King looked toward the sea, he didn't smell anything else.
No stench, nothing at all.
Yet, Yamata's reaction could not be faked.
Just as the Beast King was feeling puzzled, an oval-shaped figure surfaced from the water and stepped onto the shore, one step at a time.
It was a giant monster resembling a nautilus, standing about 80 meters tall. Its face featured octopus-like tentacles, and the eight soft, tentacle-like limbs beneath its body appeared to be walking, though it was actually gliding as it landed on the shore.
Its scent wasn't the foul odor of other monsters, but rather carried a hint of the ocean.
No wonder the Beast King hadn't detected its arrival earlier. Without X-ray vision, his sense of smell was his primary method for tracking enemies.
And this giant beast smelled just like roasted seaweed, blended into the salty sea breeze. If one could actually distinguish that upon a first meeting, it would be a miracle!
Wait!
The Beast King suddenly realized something. He turned his head toward Yamata, his majestic gaze filled with inquiry:
"You have a history with it?"
