Background / History

Luo Bing is Luo Yun’s older brother. Early in the story, he appears to have abandoned his former ambition of becoming the best mecha pilot, disappointing Luo Yun, who still looks up to him and wants to avenge their parents. He remains protective of her, however, and resolves to teach her himself rather than let revenge dominate her path. 1 2

He is a transmigrator from a peaceful world and possesses a secret ability connected to the Beast King/Godzilla. Initially, he keeps this power hidden while learning to transform without damaging his clothes and investigating the functions of his “cheat.” 11 20

After being appointed Sakura Saber’s main pilot, Luo Bing partners with Koizumi Junko. His high Spiritual Connection Index and prior achievements establish him as an unusually capable pilot, while his support helps Junko overcome the self-doubt left by her first battle. 13 14

As the Beast King, Luo Bing repeatedly hunts hostile monsters and proves overwhelmingly stronger than them. His actions lead observers to conclude that he is neutral toward humans but hostile to monsters. 18 29

Later, he becomes increasingly involved in humanity’s larger political and technological struggles. He intervenes in Bai Qingxin’s planned sacrifice for the Gai Gang project, negotiates for Little Green Men technology, and takes a harsher stance against hostile Guobite and Little Green Men figures. 182 261 270

During the Star Eater crisis, Luo Bing refuses to abandon the wounded Hell Godzilla. He publicly reveals Godzilla’s defeat, calls on humanity to unite, and plans to combine Crimson Lotus Wings Mode with Hell Mode against the incoming threat. 342 343

Luo Bing is subsequently believed dead and publicly memorialized. He eventually returns to Earth, confirms that the Titan Beasts have departed, and retires from active service. By Lin Changge’s inauguration as Sakurajima Base commander, he is content to remain outside formal leadership. 359 361 364 365
