The deep seabed, a place of deathly silence to the eyes of ordinary men.
What the eye could see was the limit.
But for Godzilla, these visual limitations of ordinary men could not constrain the King of Monsters!
The deep, frigid seabed appeared incredibly vast and gloomy at this moment.
Scattered narrow trenches and vast stretches of coral reefs served as the perfect obstacles to block one's line of sight.
Luo Bing hovered above a coral reef, focusing his gaze on his surroundings.
He opened his mouth slightly, a faint fluorescence gathering within, ready to unleash his breath at any moment.
This is the place, but ever since I arrived, that faint, lingering sense of being watched has vanished.
Could it be that he was intimidated by my arrival?
Luo Bing considered this possibility, then immediately shook his head, dismissing it.
Back when he confronted Iron Hammer, whether in terms of aura or sheer size, Iron Hammer had been completely outclassed.
Yet, even though the latter was incredibly weak, he hadn't fled; instead, he had bared his fangs at the King of Monsters!
The temperament of a monster is just like that. Even if they see a massive disparity in size, and even if they truly cannot win, they will still be itching for a fight.
Either they get beaten to death, or they get driven back.
Monsters are just that stubborn; they don't learn their lesson unless they get a good beating.
By that logic, the monster lurking in the deep sea, since it could exert a certain amount of pressure on Godzilla, was clearly no weakling.
The virtuous trait of retreating without a fight was almost impossible to find in such a creature.
After all, the opponent wasn't Godzilla, who possessed a fierce, indomitable exterior while being controlled by Luo Bing on the inside.
Just as Luo Bing was feeling puzzled, the massive coral reef beneath his feet suddenly exploded. A thick, elongated behemoth lunged out from within, charging directly at Godzilla's hulking frame!
Luo Bing had been ambushed, but he did not lose his composure!
Without a word, he unleashed a blast of Atomic Breath!
His massive tail, covered in jagged dorsal spines, whipped out like a spiked flail.
Luo Bing's first instinct had been to swing his arms.
It was a matter of habit.
However, Godzilla's short arms instantly forced him to abandon that thought, and he switched to swinging his tail-hammer instead!
At the bottom of the deep sea, the two monsters collided with a thunderous crash!
The Atomic Breath struck a portion of the opponent's body directly, crackling and popping like meat on an electric grill. Luo Bing could even smell the scent of roasting flesh.
The Atomic Breath had scored a hit, but the tail hammer, which had been a split second slower, swung through empty water.
After all, the opponent had the advantage of an ambush. Aside from the instantaneous Atomic Breath, his other attacks were a beat behind.
Following this, the monster he had encountered in the narrow passage, having stubbornly endured a blast of Atomic Breath, roared and coiled itself around Luo Bing's body!
Only then, as his vision cleared and the distance closed, did Luo Bing recognize what kind of monster this was!
It had a slender, elongated body like a giant python, with a pair of puny, vestigial wings on its back. Aside from that, its only means of attack were its sharp fangs and a serpentine body with maxed-out resilience!
This was a monster python with the body of a giant and the wings of a chicken!
"Snake King! Monster Codename: Snake King!"
Luo Bing recalled its codename, though he couldn't remember its specific stats.
However, he was certain that its stats did not exceed 9, because he remembered every monster with stats of 9 or higher very clearly!
"Watch me perform a special skill for you!"
"This skill is called tearing snake meat with my bare hands!"
After successfully ambushing him, the Snake King immediately launched its signature move, coiling around him in an attempt to strangle Luo Bing to death!
It is very difficult to suffocate a monster to death, but as long as you crush its internal organs, you can win just the same.
Death Wrap!
This was an old trick for serpentine creatures; no matter their size, they loved to use this move.
A move doesn't have to be original, as long as it works!
Luo Bing naturally wouldn't just submit obediently. Even with his short arms, it didn't matter, as his powerful muscles were more than enough!
He put his short arms to full use, combined with the assistance of his third hand—don't get the wrong idea, it was his versatile, massive tail!
Although the Snake King tried its best to strangle its prey to death just as it had always done in the past, the dream was plump, but reality was lean.
The Snake King discovered to its horror that under the full force of this bizarre, hulking beast, its Death Wrap was being pried open!
The knot that had been tied so tightly was actually being undone by sheer brute force!
Meanwhile, the two monsters locked in a life-or-death struggle were clearly not paying attention to what was beneath their feet.
As the fierce struggle intensified, the two monsters gradually moved away from the deep-sea region, rising toward the surface of the ocean.
Lin Wange and Lin Changge, the two sisters, remained inside the cockpit of the Wulei.
Lin Changge was still focused on observing the data from all directions, looking very serious and diligent.
Lin Wange, however, had already lifted her simulation helmet, revealing her beautiful face. Her eyes were slightly unfocused as she stared outside the Wulei's cockpit.
On the distant sea surface, the relevant departments from Sakurajima were working at full capacity to conduct rescue operations, preparing to transport as many fallen parts of the Sakura Saber back as they possibly could.
To reassemble and repair the Sakura Saber, these key components were indispensable.
Even if they were damaged, they could still be used for another three years with some patching up.
In this day and age, with monsters running rampant, shipping lanes were almost entirely severed.
Unable to siphon blood from the rest of the world and forced to rely solely on domestic resources for sustenance, Sakurajima's foundation was incredibly fragile; it simply could not withstand any major storms!
"Five years at most. This nation should only be able to hold on for five years—even with the support from our home country, it's the same."
"The frequency of monster attacks is getting higher and higher."
Watching the busy Sakurajima personnel in the distance, Lin Wange softly stated a cruel fact.
Without turning her head, Lin Changge continued to watch the data panel in front of her, merely replying to her sister offhandedly:
"These matters of state are not things for a 22-year-old girl like you to worry about."
Lin Wange raised an eyebrow:
"You clearly act more mature than I do and care more about these things than I do, yet now you're turning around and telling me not to pay attention. Oh, my foolish little sister, your big sister is going to get angry now..."
She reached out both hands, looking as if she were about to perform some intimate little gesture that only sisters could share.
"Beep! Beep! Beep!"
At that moment, the alarm in the cockpit blared suddenly!
With lightning speed, Lin Wange donned her helmet in under a second and stood at her main pilot position.
A virtual panel lit up in front of them.
On the panel, the scene of a hulking behemoth locked in close-quarters combat with a hundred-meter giant python came into view!
In the bottom right corner of the panel, occupying one-eighth of the screen, was a sub-frame where a bust shot of General Luo appeared.
"This footage was captured 120 miles to the southeast of the battlefield!"
"This monster, which appeared mysteriously on the North Sea battlefield, has now surfaced 120 miles to the southeast, where it has engaged the Snake King in a life-or-death battle!"
General Luo's voice came through.
Another—King of Monsters?
On the large screen, the mysterious monster was undoubtedly gaining the upper hand!
It was clearly visible that the Snake King had already unleashed its signature move, wrapping its body around the monster in a Death Wrap.
However, its enemy was using pure, raw strength, using its three legs to pry the serpent off its body, inch by inch.
Once it had gained enough distance, it immediately unleashed another point-blank Atomic Breath, slamming it right into the Snake King's forehead!
After a cacophony of imagined melting sounds, half of the Snake King's body was scorched into a different color, standing in stark contrast to the rest of its hide.
After bludgeoning Iron Hammer to death, this mysterious monster unleashed its divine might once more, never pausing for a second as it confronted the Snake King and proceeded to effortlessly thrash it.
The combat prowess displayed by this monster could be called the greatest among all the new monsters that had emerged in the last two years.
"According to the trajectory map generated by the Analysis Department, this mysterious monster appeared 120 miles to the southeast in such a short time. Preliminary estimates put its speed rating at at least 6, and it is highly likely to have reached 7!"
General Luo, located in the bottom right corner of the large screen, began to introduce the Snake King:
"Monster codename: Snake King! Length: 112 meters. Speed: 8, Strength: 6, Armor: 5!"
"Last year, the Snake King came ashore on the west coast of Lighthouse before being repelled by 'Whirlwind Eleven.' This Snake King is similar in length to the one that landed on the west coast; it is almost certain they are the same individual!"
"And it is clear that while the Snake King excels at surface combat, even in its home turf of the ocean, it is being beaten into a rout by this mysterious monster."
"After discussion, the experts in our Analysis Department have reached a unanimous conclusion: this newly appeared monster may be another terrifying existence capable of overturning the current status quo!"
A monster capable of overturning the status quo?
Lin Wange and Lin Changge, the two sisters, exchanged glances. Both of them wore expressions of shock and exclaimed in unison:
"A King of Monsters?"
These game-changing monsters that brought about horrific catastrophes shared a unified title, a name that struck terror into the hearts of all humanity:
King of Monsters!
The quintessential representative of this is 'Mountain Steel.'
Mountain Steel: Height: 135 meters. Speed: 5, Strength: 9, Armor: 10, Toxicity: Extremely High!
It is a true King of Monsters in every sense of the word, and it has personally destroyed more than one mech!
Destroy! Not just defeat!
To destroy means the pilot dies and the mecha is annihilated!
Luo Bing's parents, the mecha they piloted, Storm Red, was destroyed by Mountain Steel!
As the pinnacle of the most advanced technology, only a single left arm of Storm Red was barely recovered in the end. This shows just how terrifying the King of Monsters, Mountain Steel, truly was!
Oh, right.
The battlefield where Storm Red and Mountain Steel clashed was Malaya. That battle is also known as the Malaya National Destruction War.
The East and West joined forces, deploying five mechas in total: two from the Far East, two from Lighthouse, and one native to Malaya.
The monster side had only two, one being Mountain Steel and the other a mere cannon fodder addition, who died during the first round of concentrated fire.
The final result was four mechas destroyed and one damaged. Mountain Steel, taking on five opponents alone, spilled an unknown number of tons of toxic blood across the land of Malaya.
But in the end, he was not killed; he escaped.
That battle also completely cemented the reputation of the King of Monsters.
It let the whole world know for the first time just how terrifying the King of Monsters was!
And now, the mysterious monster that just appeared on the North Sea battlefield, which seemingly helped humanity and specialized in attacking other monsters—could it actually be a King of Monsters?
Lin Wange felt her scalp tingle. Even Lin Changge, who always maintained a calm and collected ice-beauty persona, had her mouth slightly agape, her face full of shock.
Lin Changge shook her head, unable to help but question:
"Uncle Luo, he shouldn't be at the strength level of a King of Monsters yet, right?"
Yes, in Lin Changge's view, Godzilla clearly had not reached the level of Mountain Steel.
Although, looking at the satellite imagery on the big screen, Godzilla had been beating the Snake King black and blue the entire time, and was now even tearing the Snake King's jaw apart with both hands, ripping it directly in two!
