Background / History

Northern Ursus campaign

Rhodes Island entered Ursus to aid Infected people but was pursued by the Ursus military, forced to evade local hostility, and repeatedly relocate to avoid encirclement. Ursus established checkpoints specifically to prevent the organization from joining Patriot's guerrilla forces. 173

The group eventually broke through the blockade and rendezvoused with Patriot's contingent in the northern ice fields. Talulah sought to merge the organizations, while Patriot's side insisted that its guerrillas retain operational autonomy; the negotiations ended with an alliance rather than a unified command. 174 185 186

After Shi Lei defeated five Ursus Elite Guards, Patriot's forces temporarily detained Rhodes Island personnel to prevent information about his abilities from leaking. Talulah ordered her members not to resist. 190

Schuratzburg City

Rhodes Island later captured Schuratzburg City without Patriot's guerrillas participating. It publicly invited Infected people to settle there, and its numbers expanded from several thousand to tens of thousands after absorbing the city's persecuted Infected population. 240 246

The occupation created severe internal problems:

Chernobyl and reorganization

Rhodes Island launched an operation in Chernobyl to rescue the amnesiac Doctor. The deployment suffered 12 deaths, 28 light injuries, and two severe injuries among 65 operators. 264 279

During the operation, members of the old organization committed violence against civilians and attacked former Azazel Clinic patients. Shi Lei later characterized the members responsible for widespread destruction as rioters rather than people acting in the interests of the Infected. 268 275 441

Following Talulah's disappearance and the old leadership's collapse, Jiu assumed leadership of the New Rhodes Island. Talulah became an ordinary member, judging Jiu more capable of supplying the organization with discipline, objectives, and a concrete program. 439

Medical Operations

Rhodes Island’s core work is treating Originium-related illness and distributing inhibitors. Its medical teams enter Infected districts, administer inhibitors, and withdraw quickly before local forces can mobilize against them. 211 212

• At Yarbing, Rhodes Island deployed more than 80 personnel across three medical squads, two escort squads, and a special operations team to treat local Infected people. 211
