Gaining Electricity

In silence, Naruto continued sorting through the information in his mind.

In the manga, after Sasuke's battle with Itachi, he learned the truth about his brother. With his emotions boiling fiercely, he awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan, then helped Akatsuki capture the Eight-Tails Gyuki.

After a brutal battle, however, they failed and brought back only an octopus leg.

Afterward, Akatsuki's leader, Pain, personally set out and captured the Six-Tails before heading to Konoha to capture Naruto, the last Nine-Tailed Jinchuriki.

After an intense battle, Konoha was destroyed. Naruto, whose strength had greatly increased after mastering Sage Mode, appeared and successfully defeated the villain Pain, saving the village and earning the villagers' recognition.

That shining moment did not concern Naruto much. His attention was focused on the discussion of peace between Naruto and his senior fellow disciple, Nagato Uzumaki.

"Is the theme starting to elevate now? The protagonist's first-stage pursuit in life—earning other people's recognition—has already been fulfilled, so does he need a deeper goal and pursuit to drive the later plot?"

"The exploration of peace is a very compelling theme."

"Pain's idea is very similar to the course of history in another world."

Naruto analyzed it in his mind and continued reading.

After Pain was driven back, Tsunade temporarily stepped down after exhausting all her Chakra protecting the village. The Five Kage Summit was convened, and Danzo attended as acting Hokage. Sasuke thought he was capable again, attacked the Five Kage Summit, and was taught a lesson by the Five Kage.

Had the Masked Man not arrived in time to save him, he would have died on the spot.

After that, the Masked Man declared war on the Five Kage. The Fourth Shinobi World War was about to begin, and the Eye of the Moon Plan—to cast everyone into the Infinite Tsukuyomi Genjutsu and achieve eternal peace—was revealed.

"Is this guy insane? Everyone in the world goes to dream in a virtual world, and then there's peace?"

"If you can't solve the problem of how to achieve peace, then you solve all the humans in the world who created that problem. Solving the problem at its root—you really are clever!"

"In another world, people like you are called internet-addicted teenagers. You need electroshock therapy."

Naruto had watched The Matrix and similar fantasy works. He knew that a civilization addicted to the internet on a global scale was a degenerate civilization with no prospects or future, one destined to be destroyed sooner or later.

It left his head filled with things to ridicule, and he did not even know where to begin.

The later plot was just as Naruto expected. Danzo, the Pot Kage who had taken the blame for all of the Third Hokage's misdeeds, was killed by Sasuke, who barely managed to avenge himself.

The Five Great Nations and Five Shinobi Villages, along with the samurai of the neutral Samurai Nation of Iron Country, formed the Shinobi Alliance. They fought a great war against the hundred thousand plant-like White Zetsu led by the Masked Man and the Impure World Reincarnation zombies controlled by Kabuto.

Much of the early war was insignificant in Naruto's eyes.

Even when the Uchiha Dance King—the real Madara—appeared, Naruto did not pay him much attention for the time being.

Though that world-destroying power was enviable, it was still far too distant for Naruto at this point, with no real sense of immediacy.

Until Naruto saw the Masked Man's identity exposed.

The Masked Man responsible for Naruto's miserable life until now was indeed not Madara, the overwhelmingly domineering figure recorded in the history books, a man who disdained hiding his face and concealing his identity.

He was Uchiha Obito, the student of Naruto's father, Minato Namikaze!

Not only was he the chief culprit behind Naruto's parents' deaths, he was also the chief culprit behind the Uchiha massacre. He had been Itachi's accomplice in slaughtering the Uchiha clan, an ultimate chuuni who lost hope in the world because the person he loved had died.

"What a filial son."

Naruto sneered and carefully noted Obito's abilities and weaknesses.

Although dozens of episodes were spent recounting Obito's past, Naruto's opinion of him remained low.

Once someone had no Bottom Line, he no longer deserved to be called human. At least Itachi had his younger brother as his Bottom Line.

But what about Obito?

He had no taboos and did whatever he pleased.

If he was disappointed in the world, then he should have found a way to change it. What was the point of dragging all those innocent people down with it and destroying them as well?

Naruto could not help but begin reflecting on his own current thoughts.

After learning that he was the Hero's Son yet had been treated so harshly, he too had developed the thought of destroying the village that had caused all the misfortune in his life.

But if he did that, how would he be any different from Itachi, who slaughtered his own clan in pursuit of narrow-minded peace, or from Obito, whom he hated as the source of his current misery?

The people in the village were certainly hateful, but there was also Teacher Iruka, who cared for him without any ulterior motive; Hinata, who had always liked him; and Sasuke, the friend who encouraged and supported him.

Moreover, aside from those ignorant people, there were many in the village who did not look at him with strange eyes.

Repaying grievances with justice and kindness with kindness had always been what Naruto advocated, but there also had to be accountability.

If he truly became like Obito, blindly seeking to destroy everything without distinguishing right from wrong, how would he be any different from a beast?

At that thought, Naruto gave a bitter smile, his heart filled with confusion. He did not know what he should do.

No wonder the Learning Space had possessed these manga about his future from the very beginning, yet had not shown them to him immediately.

Instead, it had first given him the proper education, only showing him this manga after he could distinguish right from wrong.

The purpose was to ensure that, once he possessed a sufficiently mature mind, he could examine his own heart and make the most correct decision, rather than regret in the future because of decisions made now, like Itachi.

"In any case, those people must pay the price. But I can't hurt those who care about me for the sake of my own selfishness. Once I've calmed down completely, I'll think of a solution that can satisfy both sides."
