I Am Legend

Everyone's expression turned dark; they wanted to curse back, but they didn't know what to say.

Ollie ran over to open the gate for the soldiers. The survivors, who had been living in panic for two days, ignored everything else and rushed toward the soldiers in excitement.

The soldiers in gas masks didn't raise their rifles to eliminate the evidence as Li Wei had expected. Instead, they accepted the survivors, organized them to head outside, and prepared to board vehicles to leave the small town.

David looked at the soldiers with a very complex expression. He glanced down at Billy, then turned to look at Li Wei, who had always been mysterious and strange, finding him chatting with Brent about something.

He recalled the things the man had said to him and felt regret for the senseless sacrifices. Bobby had died because of him, as had Mylen and Trau...

Just to get medicine, two companions had died, and Joe, who had been burned, couldn't be saved either; he had died in agony, tortured by full-body burns.

He no longer had the face to face Li Wei, let alone meet the gazes of Ollie and the others. David chose to take Billy and leave.

After shaking hands and saying goodbye to Brent, Li Wei turned and pushed open the storage room door, finding Isha and Anna hiding inside.

"It's over. There are troops waiting for you outside. Mrs. Isha, you can leave now!" Li Wei spoke, waking the two people and one bear huddled in the corner.

After waking up and hearing such good news, Isha walked out of the storage room in disbelief. When she saw the soldiers and the original survivors from the supermarket outside, she couldn't help but weep with joy.

"Thank you... thank you, Mr. Li Wei!"

Anna also kept thanking Li Wei, and the two of them and the bear departed.

Watching the last two leave, Li Wei finally looked at the Key in his hand and entered the keywords he had carefully considered: Safe Earth No...

After writing the sixth character, he couldn't write anymore. The trashy Key even popped up a notification: [Keyword limit is three groups, character limit is "6"]

"This is the housing registration book for Robert Neville. There are currently two tenants: me, and Sam."

He looked up at the empty pier; there were no houses nearby, and no one would leave a registration form in a place like this.

"My home has perfect... hmm? Defensive facilities? The space is spacious enough, with five rooms in total. If you count the useless study, perhaps six. Food, medicine, and weapons are still very sufficient. I hope I won't be the last survivor in New York."

These humanoid monsters were not just similar to the zombies he had seen on screen in I Am Legend; they were exactly the same!

The twilight light on the pier still shone around Li Wei's body as he finished sizing up the zombies that had suddenly appeared behind him.

The zombies in I Am Legend seemed to be called Darkseekers... whatever!

He shrugged indifferently, turned back around, picked up the pen on the table, flipped the notebook to a blank page, chuckled softly, and wrote a somewhat crooked sentence on it.

"You are not alone!"

I hope I can get a good night's sleep today...
