Su Que stood nearly two meters tall. The White Lotus disciple before him barely reached his chest, staring up at him with a panicked face.
This White Lotus disciple's external martial arts could make him impervious to blades and arrows against ordinary folk.
But looking at Su Que's bulging clothes, he could imagine the rock-like muscles beneath.
With a build like that, the man was almost certainly a trained fighter, and his martial realm was likely no low one.
The White Lotus disciple feared that this giant would pierce him clean through with a single spear thrust.
At that thought, the disciple's body trembled like a sieve.
He wanted to back down, to admit he dared not take a single spear strike from this hulking man.
But that would surely disgrace the White Lotus Sect, and the White Lotus Monk would never let him off.
The onlooking commoners' eyes lit up with excitement.
They too wanted to know if the White Lotus disciple could truly be "impervious to blades and arrows" under this mysterious giant's spear.
Yet they dared not jeer, cowed by the White Lotus Sect's brutality.
'Where did this reckless fool come from!'
The White Lotus Monk smiled, but his eyes gleamed with murderous intent as he fixed his gaze on Su Que.
Ever since their White Lotus Sect arrived at Jade Water City, anyone who provoked them had died a miserable death, without exception.
"May I ask which path you walk?"
"If you mean to provoke our White Lotus Sect, think carefully!"
The White Lotus Monk gathered his voice into a thread and sent it to Su Que's ear.
But Su Que weighed the Red Tassel Spear in his hand and looked at the monk:
"Tell me where Bai Wuji is, and I won't trouble you."
Hearing that Su Que sought Bai Wuji, the White Lotus Monk's heart jolted.
Over the past few months, their sect had slain several formidable martial artists. Now, in Jade Water City, even speaking Bai Wuji's name made warriors pale.
This man dared to seek Bai Wuji out, which meant his martial realm was likely no low one.
"Form the formation!"
The White Lotus Monk barked, then drifted backward to put distance between himself and Su Que.
As he retreated, he channeled true qi into his horsetail whisk.
The true qi triggered a mechanism.
In the next instant, six poison-tipped steel needles, fine as ox hair, shot from the whisk.
Su Que's sharp eyes caught the six needles. He aimed at the White Lotus Monk, mustered his strength, and hurled the Red Tassel Spear!
The spear shot forth like a swimming dragon, splitting the air with a piercing shriek.
It not only scattered the six incoming needles in one blow but also drove straight into the White Lotus Monk's left chest, pinning him to a wall.
Su Que was at the Peak Blood and Qi Realm, while this White Lotus Monk was merely a Third Blood Tendon Strengthening martial artist.
Against Su Que, the monk had no chance to fight back.
"Murder! Murder!"
The commoners screamed as Su Que impaled the White Lotus Monk, scattering before gathering at a greater distance to watch.
Now, some of them understood that the White Lotus Sect's "Immortal Mother's blessing" and "impervious to blades and arrows" were all lies.
Their leader, the White Lotus Monk, had been run through with a single spear—let alone the disciples who followed him.
But Su Que hadn't killed the monk, as the commoners assumed.
In fact, he had held back.
He needed to question the man, so he had to keep him conscious.
The Red Tassel Spear jutted from the White Lotus Monk's left chest, blood gushing from the wound like a spring.
Enduring the agony, he first channeled true qi to staunch the bleeding.
Yet he found a chilling, yin-cold true qi at the wound, steadily corroding his flesh. No matter how he directed his qi to stop the blood, it wouldn't cease.
The White Lotus Monk and Fan Wuyang of the Yin Wind Claw were both White Lotus Sect members in Jade Water City and had sparred before.
But Fan Wuyang's decades of cultivating the Yin Wind Claw fell far short of Su Que's mere days of practice.
Thus, though the monk sensed the true qi was similar to Fan Wuyang's, he never guessed it came from the Yin Wind Claw.
The White Lotus Monk had lived by the blade for years and possessed a ruthless streak.
Gritting his teeth, he didn't pull out the spear. Instead, he lunged forward along its shaft.
Blood spurted from his wound like a fountain, staining the spear's handle and half of his white monk's robe crimson.
But before he could fly far, Su Que dashed toward him in a single stride and slammed him back against the wall.
"Ahhh~~~!"
The White Lotus Monk's wound was repeatedly scraped by the gun shaft, and the searing pain finally forced a cry of agony from his lips.
Though gravely wounded, his right hand still gripped the horsetail whisk.
He swung it abruptly, whipping up a surge of energy that swept toward Su Que.
But before the whisk reached halfway, Su Que's right hand shot out—so fast it became nothing but a blur.
Crack!
Su Que's finger struck the White Lotus Monk's right upper arm bone.
The bone shattered on impact. The monk's entire right arm went limp, and the pristine white whisk fell to the ground, stained red by his blood.
Su Que's finger didn't pull away from the broken bone.
With a thought, he channeled four streams of true energy into the White Lotus Monk's body, wreaking havoc through his internal organs.
The monk felt his guts burn, freeze, corrode, and slice—all at once.
The agony was beyond human endurance, making life worse than death.
"Where does Bai Wuji live?" Su Que asked again.
The White Lotus Monk, writhing in torment, hurriedly replied:
"At the manor on Great Bell Mountain, twenty li outside Jade Water City... Great hero, withdraw your divine power and spare me..."
Boom!
Having gotten the information he wanted, Su Que withdrew his right hand, then curled his fingers into a fist and drove it into the White Lotus Monk's head.
The monk's bald skull burst open, brains and blood spraying backward with the force of the punch, splattering like ink across the wall behind him.
The onlooking townsfolk, watching from a distance, stood dumbfounded, speechless.
Before, they had only ever seen the White Lotus Sect kill people in the streets.
But seeing a White Lotus Sect member slain in public—that was a first for them!
The White Lotus disciples, who had already formed their formation under the monk's orders, froze in their tracks when they saw their leader killed without any chance to fight back. None dared advance.
One disciple suddenly snapped out of it, spun around, and bolted toward the crowd of spectators, hoping to blend in and escape Su Que's pursuit.
The others followed suit, turning and fleeing toward the gathered townsfolk.
"Don't—don't come this way!"
The townsfolk, seeing the White Lotus disciples charging at them, panicked and scattered in all directions.
They feared that Su Que, in hunting down the disciples, would catch them in the crossfire.
"A bunch of scum. Not one left alive."
Su Que withdrew his fist, turned to face the dozen or so disciples fleeing toward the crowd, then pushed off the ground. His figure blurred as he shot toward them.
Boom!
In the blink of an eye, Su Que was behind one disciple, slamming a fist into his back.
The Seven Injuries Fist force erupted, and the disciple's internal organs were instantly pulverized.
Boom, boom, boom...!
The sound of fists striking flesh rang out a dozen times in quick succession.
One by one, the White Lotus disciples collapsed to the ground.
In moments, the long street was littered with corpses, blood pooling into streams.
Only Su Que remained, bathed in the glow of the setting sun, like a god of slaughter standing among the bodies and the rivers of blood.
