Background / History

Su Que was a diligent but overworked 17-year-old schoolteacher before transmigrating into the body of his namesake, who had died from overwork at the same age. He awakened a status-like golden finger that displays his remaining lifespan and Talent Value; increases in lifespan raise his Talent Value and accelerate cultivation. 1 3 4

Seeking to repair his damaged body, Su Que first learned the Five Animal Frolics from Ji Hai. Although its breakthrough initially caused severe pain and cost him two years of lifespan, it began his pursuit of martial arts as a means of survival and longevity. 1

He later captured a low-ranking White Lotus Sect disciple, interrogated him at knifepoint, and memorized the Seven Injuries Fist's principles. Su Que kept the captive alive while practicing the art, then killed and buried him once the man became a threat to his identity. 3 4

As his strength grew, Su Que began relying on medicinal broths, stolen resources, and increasingly harmful techniques to advance. The Seven Injuries Fist's usual backlash instead strengthened his organs, Yin-Yang Qi, lifespan, and Talent Value; when this reversal weakened due to his stronger physique, he deliberately modified the technique to make its side effects more severe. 8 113 178
