"Aaron, this is River Phoenix. He's the same age as you, so you should know him. You used to be a CAA agent, after all!"
Sure enough, the person Aaron had just steadied was River Phoenix. A former child star in Hollywood, he had gained some recognition in artistic circles a few years ago through Stand by Me, directed by Rob Reiner and adapted from a Stephen King novel.
"Of course I know him," Aaron said, clinking glasses with them. "And this is Jack Wells, still a CAA agent!"
"Sorry about earlier."
River Phoenix smiled apologetically at Aaron.
"It's fine!" Judging by River Phoenix's relationship with Johnny Depp, they seemed pretty close. Two major drug addicts, too.
"By the way, the Phone Booth you produced was excellent. Cage's performance was simply astonishing!"
River Phoenix was currently just a minor actor drifting through the arthouse scene. He had quite a few works to his name, but none had made much of a splash.
"Thanks."
Aaron looked at River Phoenix and couldn't help reminding him, "Your acting is good, but isn't this lifestyle a little too crazy?"
Getting so high he could barely stand? He seemed even more hardcore than Depp.
After all, as a teenage idol, Johnny Depp had maintained a pretty good public image as an actor.
Of course, Johnny Depp was one of Hollywood's top heartthrobs. His looks alone gave him an enormous advantage!
River Phoenix took a sip of his drink. "For some roles, I need this to get into the right state."
Jack Wells added, "River has appeared in quite a few arthouse films."
"Don't worry, Aaron. This kind of life is normal for us," Johnny Depp said, taking a sip of whiskey.
Aaron couldn't be bothered to worry about them anymore. He turned to Johnny Depp.
