Signs of Chaos Emerge (Part 2)
"Chief, are you saying that the mysterious being shrouded in Black Mist is nearby?"
Selisliu pointed to the harbor below, then said to his men, "Look at the scene around here. Doesn't it resemble the place where our brothers were killed?"
At Selisliu's prompting, the other dragons began to carefully observe the situation in the harbor. They then compared it with the crime scene in their memories and found that the two were strikingly similar.
"The leader is right. The scene here is exactly the same as where those brothers were killed. So, does that mean the mysterious being is really here?"
"That's right! This place is just like the scene where our brothers were murdered. That despicable guy must have been here!"
"Look, these fish are still warm, which means that guy definitely hasn't gone far!"
"What are we waiting for? Let's go find this guy!"
"Let's go, let's go find him!"
Just as the situation was about to spiral out of control, Selisliu shouted, "Quiet down, all of you!"
Upon hearing Selisliu's shout, the dragons, who had been shouting incessantly, all fell silent, and the surroundings instantly became quiet. Taking advantage of this opportunity, Selisliu said, "We absolutely must find this mysterious being! However, we cannot wander around like headless flies; we must search with a plan and a purpose. Now I order that you form groups of three and carefully and cautiously search every corner of this harbor. You must find this mysterious being!"
"Yes!"
Upon receiving the order, the dragons spontaneously formed three-person teams and scattered to search every corner of the harbor.
West City, Headquarters
"Report!"
"Come in!"
After the order to enter was given, Elkley hurried into the room and excitedly said to Kurelle, who was sitting in the main seat, "Kurelle, something's happened!"
Looking at Elkley, who was smiling like a peony, Kurelle asked in confusion, "Something's wrong? What's wrong?"
"My scouts just reported that a carriage bearing the royal insignia of the Kingdom of Donagunov is slowly making its way towards West City!"
"A carriage bearing the royal insignia of the Kingdom of Donagunov? Hiss! You mean..."
"That's right, it must be the boss and the others who are back!"
Upon hearing this heavenly reply, Kurelle jumped up from his seat excitedly, then ran around the hall waving his arms and shouting excitedly. The other members in the hall stared blankly at Kurelle, who seemed to have gone mad, somewhat confused as to why a normally normal person had suddenly become so abnormal.
Just as Kurelle was celebrating wildly like a mad tiger, an untimely roar resounded throughout the hall.
"Kurelle, what the hell are you doing? Can't a person get any sleep?!"
Everyone turned to look at the source of the sound, only to see a burly man with disheveled hair, dark circles under his eyes, and wearing pajamas slowly emerge from the depths of the corridor and enter the hall. Despite being interrupted from his revelry, Kurelle wasn't annoyed at all. Instead, he grinned and said to the burly man, "Heradi, if you can still sleep after listening to me, I Kurelle, will cover all your expenses for the rest of your life. But if you can't sleep after listening, then you'll have to work three night shifts in a row, and you'll also have to buy us all a drink. How about it? Want to bet?"
Heradi scratched his disheveled hair, then looked at his best buddy Elkley, hoping for a hint. Seeing Heradi pleading for help, Elkley, rather unkindly, nodded, signaling him to accept the bet.
"Alright! I accept the bet. Now, tell me what the news is!"
Kurelle Heradi a sly look, then shouted, "The boss is coming back! Surprised? Unexpected?"
Upon hearing the news of his leader's impending return, Heradi burst into Golden Bell laughter, but as time passed, his laughter grew fainter and fainter, eventually turning into a wail. While crying, he loudly cursed his unworthy friend Elkley.
"Elkley, you bastard! You knew the boss was coming back, yet you still made me agree to this bet. You're such a damn rip-off!"
Elkley silently walked to Heradi's side, gently patted him on the shoulder, and said earnestly, "Brother, don't blame me! If I hadn't done this, I would have been on night shift tonight!"
After saying that, Elkley skipped away from the hall and went with Kurelle to the city gate to welcome the souls of the Western Border Army.
With the unusual actions of Elkley and Kurelle, news of their leader's imminent return spread throughout the entire Western Border Army in an instant. All the high-ranking officers in the legion put down their duties and surged towards the city gates like a tide, quietly waiting for the return of the person they held dear.
Amidst everyone's eager anticipation, a black carriage with gold trim, pulled by two horses, came into view. What intrigued everyone most was the silver ribbon hanging from the carriage window.
"Old Two, why is there such a long white cloth hanging on the carriage of the Kingdom of Donagunov?"
"Old Three, don't talk nonsense if you don't understand! This might be a special rule of the Dragunov royal family!"
"Old Four, you're talking nonsense! Who hangs a white cloth in a car as a form of etiquette?"
"Old Three, don't argue with me!"
"If anyone's going to argue, it was you, Old Four, who started it!"
"You..."
The Third Division was about to continue arguing with the Second Division when Kurelle, his face full of black lines, roared, "Stop arguing! That's not some white cloth, that's the boss!"
"Ah?"
Upon hearing Kurelle's words, all the high-ranking officers standing at the city gate collapsed to the ground.
After a long pause, the Second Division Dabo, forced himself to stand up and said incredulously, "Old Two, you mean that... that is..."
Kurelle nodded, tears streaming down his face, and then whispered, "When I was chatting with Anna before, she said that although Boss's combat power is off the charts, he has a fatal weakness, and that is transportation! Whether it's a carriage or anything else, as long as it's transportation, Boss will vomit uncontrollably after getting in. I didn't believe it before, but now it seems I have no choice but to believe it!"
"Gulp"
All the scoundrels swallowed excitedly, then glanced meaningfully at their companions. Just as they were getting excited about finding their leader's weakness, the Old Two Kurelle, bluntly poured cold water on their enthusiasm.
"I advise you not to have any bad ideas, otherwise, the boss will show you why flowers are so red!"
Thinking of the scene of revenge that the person in the carriage would later bring, all the scoundrels swallowed hard again, then extinguished the thought that had just popped into their minds. They obediently stood... oops, lay prostrate on the spot, waiting for their boss to return.
Edge Sea of the Western Continent
"These Evil Dragon are so annoying, they've come after us again!"
Sensing the dozen or so massive magical reactions rapidly approaching from behind, Zeref said impatiently. He then unleashed a massive wind spell towards the stern, propelling the ship forward at an even greater speed. No sooner had Zeref left than a dozen colossal dragons appeared in the sky above the sea.
"Chief, we were about to catch up with that kid, why did you stop?"
Selisliu glared at his subordinate who had asked the question, then said with exasperation, "What do you know, kid? If we push him too hard and he releases the Black Mist again, we'll lose a few more brothers. We might as well just follow him and wait until he's exhausted before taking him down in one fell swoop!"
Upon hearing Selisliu's words, all the dragons nodded in understanding and then said in unison, "Our leader is wise!"
