The Righteous Bandits (Part 2)
"Brother Sordil, you're saying this magic can turn you into anyone?"
Sordil's version of Yelibell glanced at Igneel, and then, purple-pink smoke erupted from Sordil's body once again. When the smoke dissipated Yelibell disappeared, Igneel appeared in the smoke.
"Of course it can transform into anyone, otherwise why would it be called Transformation Magic?"
Looking at his other self on the other side, and hearing the voice that had followed him for hundreds of years coming from the other side, Igneel felt his worldview crumbling.
Over the next few minutes, Sordil transformed into various animals, including a rabbit, an eagle, and a fish, to demonstrate the power of his Transformation Magic and the feasibility of his disguise reconnaissance. Once everyone approved of the plan to intercept the supplies, Sordil began collecting his share of the winnings.
"Sister Yelibell, are you willing to lose?"
"Hmph! You possess such powerful magic but didn't tell me, and even made me gamble with you. You're clearly trying to trick me!"
"So, Sister Yelibell is unwilling to accept defeat? Fine! In that case, this bet is null and void. Just pretend I never said it!"
"No! I'm just not as skilled as them, and I'm willing to accept defeat!"
"Sister Yelibell, please don't push yourself!"
"Who forced me? It's just a request. I, Yelibell, am not someone who can't afford to lose. Besides, I'm not the first person to lose to you!"
Upon hearing Yelibell's words, Belserion and Acnologia's faces burned red. To avoid becoming the center of embarrassment, Belserion quickly interjected, "Now that the next course of action has been decided, shouldn't we also finalize the personnel to go to the enemy's territory to gather intelligence and set up the Teleportation Array?"
After Belserion finished speaking, everyone nodded in agreement, and then all eyes turned to Sordil.
"Don't worry, everyone. I already know who is in charge of setting up the Teleportation Array behind enemy lines. I'll bring him here after you all leave!"
Upon learning that the person tasked with this mission wasn't among them, Igneel and the others felt a mix of disappointment and anticipation. They were eager to see who had been so lucky and unlucky. So, Igneel, the representative of the crowd, hurriedly said, "Brother Sordil, since you already have someone in mind, quickly open this thing and bring them here so we can see them!"
Sordil nodded and said, "Alright! I'll release everyone now and bring the people who carried out the mission to meet you."
After speaking, Sordil waved his right hand, removing the Space Barrier around him. Then, amidst the expectant, envious, and jealous gazes of the crowd, he stepped onto the Teleportation Array. Just as everyone was about to discuss who would carry out the mission, the Teleportation Array, which had just been extinguished, lit up with a silvery-white light again. When they saw the two people standing on the Teleportation Array, Diphiya, Murellia, and Mevajena screamed in surprise.
"Lindel, is that you?"
Seeing that the three seemed a bit off, Lindel said haltingly, "It's... it's me! Is... is there... something wrong?"
"Sordil, the person you mentioned who went with you behind enemy lines, is that Lindel?"
"Yes! But not entirely! Besides Lindel, the three of you also accompanied me on this reconnaissance mission behind enemy lines!"
The three exchanged a glance, then said incredulously, "We're going too?"
"Of course! After all, apart from you few, there's no one else who can use Transformation Magic."
The three thought about it carefully and realized that it was indeed the case. Wait a minute... it seems that besides the four of them, there are two other guys who can use Transformation Magic. Seeing the three of them suddenly look up, Sordil instantly guessed what they were thinking, so he immediately explained, "Because this operation is too dangerous, and Anna and Seraf have other things to do, I didn't call them this time."
The three nodded knowingly, and then Diphiya said, "Sordil, now that we've gathered everyone, let's set off quickly!"
"Okay! My plan is this: we'll first take the Teleportation Array Teleportation Array the one closest to the Western Continent, and then we'll travel by air to the Western Continent to scout out the situation."
"Okay! Let's do it that way!"
A peninsula on the border of the Principality of Babaronza
Looking at the unfamiliar scenery around him, Lindel, with a clump of bushes above his head, asked softly, "Young Master Sordil, where are we now?"
"We are now on the border of the Principality of Babaronza. The coastline is not far to the west."
Holding two coconut trees in her hands to shield her petite frame, Diphiya asked, "Sordil, where are we going now?"
"Let's rest for a bit. After dark, we'll transform into fish and swim in the sea. Then we'll head to the Principality of Galacore, located between the Western Continent, and wait for the enemy there!"
"Good!"
Principality of Galacore
Three days after the military conference in the central battlefield, Sordil and his group successfully arrived at the Principality of Galacore. However, the Principality of Galacore that appeared before them differed from what was depicted on the map. Diphiya pointed to a small island below, only a few square kilometers in size, and asked Sordil with surprise, "Sordil, is this the so-called Principality of Galacore?"
"According to the map, this should be the Principality of Galacore, and the map shows that the duchy covers an area of several hundred square kilometers. But..."
Looking at the tiny speck in the vast ocean, Sordil himself could hardly believe that this was the legendary Principality of Galacore. At this moment, Mevajena spoke up, "This island should have originally been several hundred square kilometers in area, and it is the Principality of Galacore that we are looking for. Its current state is probably due to the battle. If I'm not mistaken, the rest of the island should have been sunk and eroded to the seabed."
"Sister Mevajena, how do you know that the rest of the island slid into the sea because of the battle?"
Mevajena glanced at Diphiya and then said, "Sister Diphiya, take a close look around this island. Have you noticed that the edges of the island are uneven, rough, and the soil is very new?"
Diphiya carefully observed her surroundings and found that the edge of the island was indeed as Mevajena had said. She quickly turned to Mevajena, signaling her to continue.
"The fact that the island is shaped like this means that there was originally land outside these edges, which is why it didn't become smooth and flat due to the erosion of the sea. And you can see that there are still some charred marks left from battles and craters caused by explosions on the island's land. Therefore, I concluded that this is the Principality of Galacore on the map, and that it became like this because of a battle."
After hearing Mevajena's explanation, the other four accepted this absurd and excessive conclusion.
"Sordil, the reason this place has become like this must be the work of those guys from the Western Continent, so I think we should set up the Teleportation Array in a different location."
"Young Master Sordil, Mevajena and I think so too!"
"Since you all think this way, then those guys from the Western Continent must think the same way. So they definitely won't expect us to intercept their grain transport team here, making this the best ambush location."
Although Diphiya and the others wanted to refute Sordil, they couldn't come up with a reasonable explanation, so they had no choice but to stay there and accompany Sordil in his madness.
