Third Food War (3)
Dragunov, Royal Palace Drill Ground
The originally spacious and wide training ground appeared somewhat crowded after being crammed with an array of two hundred giant dragons. However, the dragons in formation did not become disordered at all; instead, they maintained their neat formation and listened attentively to the commander's speech from the high platform.
"My fellow dragons, you should already know the purpose of this summons, right? That's right, we're about to launch an attack to drive the Evil Dragon of the Western Continent out of Ishgar! However, before that, we need to deal with the enemy's supply convoy, turning those Evil Dragon on Ishgar into an isolated force, and then completely annihilate them. Your expedition is to cut off the supply lines of the Evil Dragon of the Western Continent, completing the first step of the extermination plan. For this, we must leave Ishgar and head to the Western Continent to lay an ambush."
"If any of you find this mission too dangerous and are unwilling to participate, then please turn around and leave. I will not force you to stay!"
After Sordil finished speaking, the array below remained motionless, everyone staring intently at Sordil as if nothing had just happened.
"Good! Very good! Your courage is admirable. I, Sordil, hereby swear that I will do everything in my power to ensure your safety, lead you to drive out the Evil Dragon of the Western Continent, and restore peace and prosperity to Ishgar!"
As Young Master Sordil raised his arm and shouted, the two hundred dragon soldiers below the stage also shouted loudly in response.
"Drive away the Evil Dragon!"
"Drive away the Evil Dragon!"
Just as the young master was about to give the order to depart, Diphiya quietly walked up to him and whispered, "Brother, Sister-in-law Irene is here, she's outside the training ground!"
After receiving the message, Sordil nodded, then turned to the dragons below and shouted, "Everyone, wait for me in the air! Prepare to depart!"
"Yes!"
A series of unified dragon roars rang out, followed by the orderly formation of dragons slowly rising into the air, finally hovering high above the outer perimeter of the palace.
"Diphiya, you keep an eye on them and don't let these kids cause trouble. I'm going to say goodbye to Irene, and then we'll set off."
"Don't worry, brother, I'll keep an eye on them!"
After speaking, the two went to their respective destinations to complete their duties.
After scanning the area to ensure no one could see her, Sordil used Transformation Magic to switch to human form as she descended. Upon landing, the person standing before Irene was none other than the silver-haired General Oddek. Looking at this lovable yet hateful nemesis before her, Irene's eyes reddened, and her nose tingled with emotion. However, given their respective statuses, Her Majesty the Queen suppressed her discomfort and withdrew the pearls from her eyes.
The two stared at each other in silence for a long time before Her Majesty the Queen, having managed to control her facial expressions, finally spoke, breaking the long silence.
"You bastard, you'd better come back alive!"
Sordil gave Irene a wicked smile, then said in a roguish tone, "Of course, after all, someone's promised beautiful daughter hasn't arrived yet!"
"Tch! Shameless! Who... who agreed to that?"
Seeing the usually resolute and brave Her Majesty the Queen so shy, the rogue burst into laughter.
"Ha ha!"
"Ha ha!"
"You filthy scoundrel, you've made a fool of yourself!"
"Let you laugh at me!"
Faced with the rogue's outrageous behavior, the dignified Her Majesty the Queen, disregarding her composure, playfully punched him in the chest. After taking a dozen or so blows, Sordil grabbed Irene's fist and forcefully pulled her into his arms. After a few token resistances, the Her Majesty the Queen allowed this domineering man to hold her tightly in his embrace.
"Irene, after I leave, Dragunov will be all on your own. You must take good care of yourself and not overwork yourself!"
"Don't worry, you rascal, I'll take good care of myself!"
"Okay! You'd better remember your promise. If I come back and find you've lost weight, or if you've run into some other problem, you'll be in big trouble!"
"Hmph! I've already made my promise, so what about yours?"
Sordil reached out and pinched Irene's puffed-up cheeks, then said gently, "Fine! I, Sordil, solemnly promise Queen Irene that I will return from the battlefield unharmed, or I will be bullied by Queen Irene for all eternity!"
"Hey! You scoundrel, is that a promise or a curse?"
"Ha ha!"
"Ha ha!"
After the laughter subsided, the young master's carefree expression instantly transformed into a stiff and serious one. Then, he solemnly said, "Irene, I really should go now. Take care of yourself!"
"Yes! I will wait for you to come back, forever!"
Under Irene's lingering, reluctant gaze, Oddek transformed into Sordil once more, then disappeared into the sky above the edge of the palace.
When Sordil arrived at the designated meeting point, Diphiya was already standing at the front of the line, quietly waiting for him. Seeing her Casanova return, Diphiya immediately greeted him, lowering her voice to say, "Oh, our Casanova is back!"
"Hmph! Little girl, you're getting bolder and bolder, daring to even make fun of your older brother?"
Hearing the boastful tone of a certain guy, Diphiya suddenly remembered that the era of Miss Diphiya was over; now it was the reign of Young Master Sordil. Diphiya playfully stuck out her tongue, then said seriously, "Prince Sordil, the troops are assembled and we request to depart!"
Seeing that Divine Constable Di's attitude of admitting his mistake was good, Prince Sordil nodded in satisfaction, then shook his head and said, "Hmm! Kid, well done, let's go!"
After receiving approval, Diphiya gave a military salute, then turned left to face the main force, and shouted, "All men, listen up! The troops are moving out!"
With the order given, the massive battle formation began flying towards the city. (Due to the large number and diverse composition of the personnel, the Teleportation Array used this time was the same one that Sordil used to transport the comfort delegation.)
Chigengster Plains, Western Continent Camp
"Report!"
A soldier burst into the Main army tent, shouting in a drawn-out tone. After entering, he knelt on one knee and respectfully said, "Reporting to the three lords, Chief Zakro has returned."
"Zakro is back? Quickly bring him to the Main army tent! (Kelsu)"
"Yes, Your Majesty!"
After receiving Kelsu's order, the soldier stood up, bowed, and left the main tent. A moment later, Zakro, covered in blue scales, arrived at the Main army tent, led by a soldier.
"Your subordinate greets the three lords!"
"No need for formalities, please rise!" (Kelsu)
"Yes!"
As soon as Zakro stood up, Kelsu asked impatiently, "Zakro, how is it?"
"Reporting to Kelsu, Lords Olibuk and Shideweig have begun their operations according to plan."
"Good! Excellent! Zakro, you must be tired from your journey. Go and rest now. I'll send someone to let you know if anything happens!"
"Yes, Your subordinate takes his leave!"
After Zakro and the others left the tent, Delsd, who had been suppressing his emotions for a long time, said excitedly, "Kelsu, Olibuk has already started to move. Shouldn't we make our move too?"
"Yes! It's time! Goodpes, contact your Old Friend immediately, tell them the exact time of the operation, and ask them to notify the ambush troops behind enemy lines to prepare."
"Okay, I'll go right away!"
"Delsd, gather all the men immediately, then take them to the designated location via a safe route and wait for the opportune moment."
"Kelsu, don't worry, I'll definitely handle things perfectly for you!"
Seeing the eager Delsd, Kelsu quickly pulled him back and then cautiously instructed him, "Delldre, you must keep your temper in check and not rush into an attack, otherwise all our plans over the past few months will be in vain!"
"Damn it! Kyle, you really underestimate me! This time, Old Dai will show you what true courage and strategy are!"
"Haha! I'll be waiting to see!"
"Snort!"
