The Final Battle (8)
Just as Sordil was about to stare his presbyopia into nearsightedness, the guy he had been looking for finally appeared!
"Whoosh!"
Old Suo dared not hesitate for a moment, immediately reaching out his right hand to scoop the target out of the band of light, and then throwing it toward the Sage Dragon on the ground.
A drop of crystal-blue liquid, resembling a water droplet, detached from Old Suo's palm, its trail of brilliant blue-purple flames slowly descending downwards. If someone were to observe closely with a telescope at this moment, they would discover a miniature version of the Sage Dragon within this drop of crystal-blue liquid, and it was the Sage Dragon about to be struck by two breaths.
"Buzz!"
As the crystal-blue liquid slides down, the world that had been frozen in time and lost its color is gradually regaining its vitality.
"Thump!"
The slow-moving blue liquid finally broke through Sage Dragon's skull and merged into his body. Just then, Sage Dragon, who had previously shown no signs of life, suddenly opened his eyes and greedily inhaled the novel thing called fresh air.
In some unknown world, in a blue-purple palace
The tall figure who had been sitting in the center of the hall, savoring her black tea, suddenly stood up and looked in a certain direction.
"Hmm? Another being capable of manipulating time has appeared. Looks like things are about to get interesting here!"
The smile on the tall figure's lips hadn't even faded before it froze completely on her smooth, pink cheeks.
"This kid is really bold. He just gained control of time and went to oppose that Iron Maiden. This is going to be troublesome!"
"Sigh! Oh well! Since we're destined to meet, I'll lend you a hand!"
After speaking, the tall figure extended her right hand and flicked her middle finger in the direction she was gazing. Having done this, she sat back down and continued to enjoy her delicious afternoon tea.
In some unknown world, in a black and white palace
Just as the tall figure in the blue-purple palace was gazing in a certain direction, the owner of the black-and-white palace was also looking in the same direction. Coincidentally, their gazes were directed towards the same point. However, unlike the joy of the owner of the blue-purple palace, the owner of the black-and-white palace was currently enraged.
"Asshole!"
"Asshole!"
"Asshole!"
"Don't you guys know that the laws of the world cannot be changed, and the demise of things cannot be reversed? Why do you one after another violate the laws and step into areas you shouldn't be in?"
Although she had already loudly berated the other party, the anger in the master of the Black and White Palace had not subsided; in fact, it was growing. (Of course! Her breasts were practically about to pop off her body like Stephen Chow's fish balls; even a fool could tell she was still angry!)
"Hmph! That guy before was one thing, at least he used relatively normal power, not too outrageous. But this guy, he actually used that stinky bamboo pole's power, isn't he just blatantly trying to slap me in the face?"
"Fine! Since you trust Stinky Bamboo so much, I'll see if she can save you from me! And let everyone see who's more powerful, me or Stinky Bamboo!"
"Go! Upgraded Paradox, teach this reckless fool a lesson for me!"
Peterburg City, Central Battlefield
Rewind to the moment Sage Dragon opened his eyes, a blue-purple stream of light pierced through space at an invisible speed and entered Sordil's body. At the same time, a black-and-white stream of light, resembling a yin-yang symbol, rushed into Sordil's body at the same speed.
"Buzz!"
"Ah!"
A series of black and white stripes suddenly appeared on Sordil's body and attempted to dissipate outwards.
Just then, beams of blue-purple light shot out from his body, covering the black and white markings and preventing him from escaping Sordil's body.
Sensing the changes in his body, Sordil instantly guessed that it must have been that narrow-minded god who had made the move. So, he immediately shouted to the Sage Dragon on the ground and to Diphiya and the others standing outside the barrier, "Uncle Sage Dragon, hurry and reunite with Diphiya and the others! Diphiya, quickly activate the Teleportation Array!"
Sage Dragon had just opened his eyes, was still in a daze and had no idea what was going on. Therefore, he did not immediately do as Sordil said, but instead kept pinching and squeezing his body.
When Diphiya regained her mobility and saw Sordil's pained appearance, she was completely dumbfounded, let alone able to operate the Teleportation Array.
Faced with this situation, Sordil could only roar in anguish once more, "Uncle Sage Dragon, Diphiya, hurry up and act! I can't hold on much longer!"
Hearing Sordil's roar again, the group that had just been disconnected finally logged back into the game... Oops! Wrong! They finally returned to reality.
"You brat, weren't I already dead? How come... (Sage Dragon)"
"Uncle Sage Dragon, I don't have time to explain to you now. You should go and meet up with Diphiya and the others. They will tell you everything then!"
Seeing the anxious Sordil, Sage Dragon was still completely confused, but he still followed the other party's instructions and went to meet up with Diphiya and the others.
"You bastard, didn't you say there wouldn't be any danger to my life? How come... Waaah!"
"Irene, don't worry, I'm fine!"
"Even in this state, you're still planning to lie to me?"
Sordil smiled at Irene, whose face was streaked with tears, and said, "Irene, I'm not lying to you. I'll really be fine, so don't worry!"
After comforting Irene, Sordil yelled at Heradi, "Heradi, send everyone into the Teleportation Array and get them out of here!"
"Boss, I..."
"This is an order, execute it immediately!"
Just when Sordil thought the order was about to be carried out, the usually obedient Heradi dared to defy the order!
"Boss, I, Heradi, will obey any other order, but I will not obey this one! Because you said that our Western Border Army's military rule is to never abandon or give up!"
Being used against him by his own right-hand men, Old Suo felt a mix of emotions. Left with no other option, he relayed the order to the other officers behind Heradi, but the result remained unchanged. However, Old Suo didn't give up; he continued to relay the order, and the disobedience continued.
Thus, a stalemate ensued between the two sides.
Rewind to half an hour earlier on the northern battlefield. Just as Sordil was busy trying to revive the Sage Dragon, the seemingly united but actually divided Black Cloud finally drifted to the edge of the battlefield.
Staring at the battlefield before him, a battlefield devoid of living beings and only corpses, the entire black cloud was utterly dumbfounded. Just then, a point of light appeared in the south and hurtled towards the black cloud at an incredible speed.
A moment later, the point of light arrived in front of the dark cloud. Then, he shouted to the two figures at the front of the cloud, "Lord Shideweig, Olibuk sent me to tell you that those guys from Ishgar have retreated from here to the mountains to the east!"
"What? They've withdrawn? Didn't you join forces with Kelsu and the others to encircle the Ishgar resistance forces? How could they have escaped?"
"Shideweig, you may not know this, but not long ago, the situation here changed dramatically. Chief Kelsu and his men were defeated, the encirclement was broken, and the enemy took the opportunity to retreat to the mountains to the east, preparing to put up a last-ditch resistance."
"Kelsu and the others were defeated? How is that possible! Kelsu and the others are far stronger than Ishgar, how could they have been defeated?"
"Shideweig, Lord Kelsu and his men were indeed gaining the upper hand and were about to win. But at this crucial moment, enemy reinforcements suddenly arrived and leveled the situation. Immediately afterwards, Kelsu and his men stood frozen in place, their faces contorted in pain, allowing the enemy to attack them. At that time, we were still some distance from the battlefield and could not provide support. By the time we arrived, the battle was over, and Kelsu and his men had all perished!"
"What did you say? Kelsu and the others..."
Faced with the extremely shocked and furious Shideweig, the messenger dared not speak, but could only nod vigorously to indicate that he had not made a mistake.
Upon learning that several old friends and their men had all perished in battle, Shideweig was shocked, yet also felt a sliver of relief. Just then, a voice from behind jolted Shideweig out of his reverie, plunging him into the complex and chilling reality.
"Shideweig, it seems inappropriate to keep such big news from us: Kelsu and the others have died in battle, Ishgar legion has retreated eastward."
"Hmph! Chief Glaide, what are you saying? How could I keep it from you? It's just that the news came so suddenly that I haven't had a chance to inform you yet!"
"Oh! I see. I'm sorry, I misunderstood you!"
"Hehe! Chief Glaide is too kind!"
After their awkward conversation came to an end, Hit, standing beside Shideweig, said, "Chief, now that the encirclement has been broken and Ishgar's army has retreated, shall we retreat as well?"
Upon hearing Hit's words, Shideweig and Glaide, who had been at loggerheads, suddenly exclaimed in unison, "No! We can't retreat!"
After shouting, Shideweig and his companion smiled at each other, and then said in unison, "Shideweig /Chief Glaide, we never expected to be so in sync when dealing with external enemies!"
"Hehe!"
"Ha ha!"
After a few awkward laughs, Shideweig flew to the messenger's side and said to Glaide, "Chief Glaide, I'm going to see Olibuk to discuss joining forces to wipe out the enemy. I'll leave it to you to lead the troops to the eastern mountains!"
Upon hearing that Shideweig was leaving, Glaide's face instantly stiffened. After a moment, he said with a zombie-like grin, "Alright! Thank you for your trouble, Shideweig!"
