Background / History

Yu Xiaogang approached Tang San at Nuoding Academy after Feng Hao had already accepted him as a disciple. Presenting himself as a continentally known Martial Soul theorist, he argued that Tang San's Blue Silver Grass was a powerful Control System Martial Soul and identified the significance of Tang San's Twin Martial Souls. He also recognized the Clear Sky Hammer and warned Tang San never to display it publicly. 10

He convinced Tang San that Feng Hao belonged to Martial Soul Hall and was seeking Tang Hao. Afterward, he guided Tang San in the Soul Hunting Forest, teaching him classifications of Soul Beasts and advising him on his first spirit ring. When Tang San became shaken by Feng Hao's ten-thousand-year rings, Yu Xiaogang insisted Feng Hao was a Martial Soul Hall experiment and reaffirmed Tang San's potential as a Twin Martial Soul wielder. 13 16

At Nuoding Academy's graduation ceremony, Yu Xiaogang and Tang San attempted to frame Feng Hao through poisoned well water. Feng Hao exposed the scheme, disproved Yu Xiaogang's claims by revealing his own extraordinary spirit-ring configuration, and publicly humiliated him. Yu Xiaogang was subsequently beaten and left crippled. 29 31

He later went to Shrek Academy seeking Flender's support against Feng Hao. Flender allowed him to remain as an old friend but refused to appoint him as a teacher or drive Feng Hao away. Yu Xiaogang and Tang San instead nurtured a shared desire for revenge. 77 78

Tang San eventually drugged Yu Xiaogang and cut off both of his little fingers in exchange for power. Despite the betrayal, Yu Xiaogang continued relying on Tang San because he had no stronger ally available. 102 109

Following his physical decline, Yu Xiaogang was publicly accused of abusing a male student he had tutored. While speaking privately with Tang San afterward, he admitted that the accusation was true and blamed Feng Hao for the circumstances that led to his condition. Liu Erlong witnessed enough to realize he had been lying, then left him. 109 110

After his expulsion from Blue Tyrant Academy, Yu Xiaogang sought revenge through Withered Wood Douluo and the Rogue Spirit Master Alliance. He offered his lifelong loyalty in return for Feng Hao's death, but panicked when Feng Hao appeared before them. 231 290

With Tang San no longer available to him, Yu Xiaogang traveled to Spirit City and offered Bibi Dong his life's research in exchange for Feng Hao's assassination. Bibi Dong dismissed the value of his research, while Feng Hao chose to drive him mad rather than kill him. Papal Palace guards then carried him outside. 320 323

Appearance

Yu Xiaogang's appearance deteriorated heavily following his public defeat and subsequent injuries. By the time he arrived at Shrek, Flender noted that his former masculine demeanor had been replaced by an effeminate presentation and a shrill, duck-like voice. 77
