Adventurer Identity: Encounter in the Royal Capital

The former Kingdom's capital had now become the first city on the front lines. The entire city exuded an air of desolation.

The Inner City, once the most prosperous area, had long since been emptied. All that remained were rows of magnificent estates and towers.

Only the Outer City, where the commoners lived, had instead become the liveliest place in the entire Royal City. Of course, chaos was unavoidable as well.

small contingents of troops still remained stationed in the Royal City. After all, this had once been the capital of a nation, and the major nobles had also left behind personnel to guard their property.

Black boots stepped across the street, producing steady sounds as their soles scraped against the dusty stone pavement.

Two figures walked along the relatively empty street. One wore jet-black full-body armor, carried two greatswords on his back, and looked exceptionally muscular.

The other was a female adventurer with beautiful features, fair and delicate skin, and long black hair tied into a ponytail. Their conspicuous appearances made the few pedestrians on the street unable to resist glancing at them before lowering their heads and hurrying away.

"Is it just an illusion? This feels somewhat similar to E-Rantel."

Ainz observed his surroundings. His crimson eyes flickered behind his mask as he pondered. "Hmm, it's still not quite the same. E-Rantel lacks vitality more than anything else."

That was what Ainz thought. He had never been to the Royal Capital before, but he had learned about it through Sebas and thus had a general impression. He felt that its current state was perfectly normal. The country had just experienced a war, and it had been the losing side. Especially since the nation itself had already been destroyed.
