Zhou Yi wasn't one to dawdle. The other party had already gone this far; if she kept hesitating, she'd just be putting on airs.
"Alright. You help me grow stronger, and in five years, I'll send you home."
That was Zhou Yi's promise. For the sake of that promise, she would work even harder to improve in the time ahead.
Thank you.
Perhaps it had been rebuffed for too long, but now that it had finally received this promise, the Intelligent Brain was deeply moved.
After merging with Zhou Yi's consciousness barrier, communication between them became much easier. It was as though their minds were linked—without deliberately sensing anything, Zhou Yi knew what the other was saying.
You can call me Xiao Fu from now on, the Intelligent Brain said shyly.
She hadn't expected an Intelligent Brain to have a name of its own. It truly was something from a higher-level plane.
"How should I use this Crystal Marrow?"
Zhou Yi quickly skipped the pleasantries and got to the point. After all, she had no secrets before the Intelligent Brain, so there was no need to repeat herself.
The energy contained within this Crystal Marrow is exceptionally pure and powerful. Keeping it nearby would make it a natural high-energy field for the Chosen Ones, and it would also be the finest energy material for mechs above S-rank. Putting it in your hands is truly a waste of resources.
Zhou Yi ignored the disdain in the Intelligent Brain's tone. She knew it was telling the truth. She couldn't even stand getting too close to it right now. Calling it a waste was putting it mildly—it was simply a monstrous squandering of a priceless treasure.
"It'd be an even bigger waste just sitting in my storage space. Do you have any other methods?"
If it didn't even have a solution for this, Zhou Yi would truly have to question whether what the Intelligent Brain had just said was real.
A method? How about getting some Crystal Stones? When Crystal Marrow emerges, it is usually accompanied by a massive High-Grade Crystal Stone mine, formed by the radiation of the Crystal Marrow's energy. By the same principle, if you place low-grade Crystal Stones together with the Crystal Marrow, their energy will increase over time as well.
The Intelligent Brain actually had a method in its programming that would allow Zhou Yi to use the Crystal Marrow at her current stage, but this was the most cost-effective option for now.
There should be a lowest-grade crystal stone mine on D72 Star Block. Just get some of that junk stone. Upgrading it into ordinary Energy Crystal Stones shouldn't be much of a problem. Aren't you planning to study to become a Mech Master? Stockpile more Energy Crystal Stones—you'll need them later.
It really knew everything.
Simply by feeding the search records from Zhou Yi's Star Brain into its program, it knew everything. What a terrifying program.
"If I want to create another high-energy environment for cultivation without putting the Crystal Marrow too far away, is there a way?"
You're hopelessly stupid. The energy is too strong when it's close by, so you can't endure it. Just wrap it in something to block part of the energy, isn't that enough?
Right, that was a good idea!
Zhou Yi slapped her forehead, quickly put the Crystal Marrow into her ring, threw on some clothes, and headed out.
It was a rest day, so there were few students on the roads. Whether at Huadun or on D72 Star Block, there really wasn't much to do for fun. On rest days, everyone either slept the whole day away or gathered in their dorms to play cards and games.
Qi Lan was off on rest days as well. Fortunately, Zhou Yi had the library key, so she opened the door herself and went up to the third-floor storeroom.
She had taught herself quite a bit about Mech Masters and had also found videos of Mech Master classes on the school intranet. But after watching only a few, she gave up, feeling that self-study would probably be faster...
Although building a mech was still somewhat beyond the current Zhou Yi, she could try making a few simple things.
And the best material for making a protective casing for the Crystal Marrow was mech material.
As for materials and tools, they were readily available in the storeroom.
Tsk, tsk. Such a huge storeroom, yet it's filled with nothing but this junk. Shouldn't this stuff be in a waste processing plant?
The moment they entered, the Intelligent Brain began complaining.
If it hadn't known this was the storeroom above the library, it would have thought they had entered a garbage dump. There wasn't a single useful thing here.
"These are all treasures."
Zhou Yi didn't find the place shabby at all. She had spent several months in this storeroom, learned more and more here, and had instead grown fond of the place.
She dragged a battered box out from a corner, opened it, rummaged through it, and took out several tools.
She had previously dug this box out from beneath a pile of mech wreckage. It contained tools used by Mech Masters. The set was quite complete, though basic and worn-out. It was barely usable.
The most important tools inside were a Heat Gun and a Cutting Dagger.
The Cutting Dagger could cut through mechs. Its main principle did not rely on sharpness; when it came into contact with a mech, the blade would immediately be coated in laser energy for cutting.
The Heat Gun could melt the edges of mech components, allowing them to seamlessly fuse with other parts of the mech.
These two were the tools most commonly used by Mech Masters.
After taking the tools, Zhou Yi went to her pile of treasures and picked through it again, dragging out a scattered pink mech body.
She quickly removed the Mech Cockpit door with the Cutting Dagger and cut it into six small pieces. Then she fused them together with the Heat Gun. While fusing the last piece, she ran into the wreckage pile to find a small component and installed it on the cube as a movable door.
Almost in one smooth motion, Zhou Yi made a small pink box roughly forty centimeters in length, width, and height.
The box is... not bad. But this color—I didn't expect you to be so girly.
The Intelligent Brain knew this was Zhou Yi's first time using mech tools. Whether in the smoothness of her cuts or the quality of her fusion work, the box was excellent. It didn't look at all like something made by someone holding those tools for the first time.
Even with the Intelligent Brain's picky standards, it had to admit that Zhou Yi possessed astonishing talent as a Mech Master.
Zhou Yi also thought the pink box looked a little girly, but she had no choice. This was the most suitable material she could use right now.
Anything worse had rusted and corroded, while anything better couldn't be cut at all with the dagger in her hand.
A little girly was fine. Great undertakings didn't concern themselves with trifles, Zhou Yi comforted herself.
The warehouse had no windows to begin with, and the door was shut tight. Zhou Yi took the Crystal Marrow out of his ring, paused for a moment, then put it back.
What was he doing? Wasn't he going to try out his little pink box?
Seeing Zhou Yi suddenly stop, the Intelligent Brain was a little confused.
Though it didn't actually have a brain.
"Still missing something."
Zhou Yi picked up the dagger and casually cut two more small rectangular strips from the leftover mech materials. Then he found a softer, lower-density material and cut out a palm-sized piece.
He attached the two pink strips to either side of the small piece, lightly heated the soft material with the Heat Gun, then, wearing high-temperature gloves, bent it into a curved arc. A simple large pink clip was complete.
Intelligent Brain: ...
Intelligent Brain: Sure enough, humans were human because they knew how to use tools. The history books had not lied to it.
