Background / History

Efua was Mogadishu's “underground emperor,” controlling roughly eighty percent of the city's military forces and Somalia's only port. Despite this influence, he lived in a refugee slum, maintained a guarded public presence, and concealed his face beneath white cloth. His port leases formed the core of his income and funded his armed followers. 29

When Chu Feng sought to lease Mogadishu Port, Efua initially refused to surrender a strategic Somali asset, even at personal risk. Chu Feng's proposal to invest in Somalia's resources and infrastructure ultimately persuaded him to cooperate; Efua accepted the arrangement as one that could benefit his country. 29

Efua withdrew his dock guards so Origin's Guardian Robots could take control of the port.
