Storming The Hive

Under the gazes of Zhan Lan and Zheng Zha, Uchiha Gen began explaining why he wanted to attack the Hive directly:

"Based on the plot of Resident Evil 1, the outbreak of Resident Evil was an accident. But details from the later Resident Evil films suggest that Umbrella Corporation deliberately released the virus."

"The films also revealed another important piece of information: Umbrella Corporation possessed relatively mature and advanced Clone Technology."

"Taking all this together, we can infer the truth. Umbrella Corporation's upper management hid away their real bodies and used clones to act in public. Under the cover of an accident, they released the T-virus in order to wipe out all humanity."

"Once the disaster was over, they would emerge to clean up the aftermath and eliminate the virus."

"Although this entire plan carried enormous risks, if the major nations of human civilization discovered it, everyone in Umbrella Corporation would die without a burial ground."

"But if this World Ending Plan succeeded, Umbrella Corporation would profit enormously and possess the entire Earth."

"From the movie plots, we know that carrying out this World Ending Plan would take quite some time. Before then, Umbrella Corporation's true upper management would definitely need to hide somewhere safe and wait for the plan to end."

"So where would they hide?"

"There were many possible answers, but after watching the Resident Evil film series, I had a guess. Perhaps Umbrella Corporation's upper management was hiding beneath this Hive."

"After all, according to the rules of movie storytelling, directors usually create a sense of fate where everything ends where it began. And from a practical standpoint, there is also the saying that the most dangerous place is the safest place."

"No one would imagine that the true masterminds behind the World Ending Plan were hidden inside the underground Hive, the origin of this entire story, even after it had been hit by a Nuclear Bomb."

Uchiha Gen's words were nine parts truth and one part lie.

His conclusion was entirely correct; his reasoning was purely based on having read the script.

Yet his supremely confident demeanor infected his two teammates, making them instinctively believe him.

At this moment, Zhan Lan followed Uchiha Gen's logic and suddenly realized something. "Umbrella Corporation may be powerful, but it doesn't have the strength to challenge all of human civilization on its own."

"So they disguised the T-virus leak as an accident, evaded humanity's initial investigation, hid themselves behind the scenes, and quietly waited for the virus to finish cleansing all of human civilization."

"If we storm the Hive and deal with Umbrella Corporation's upper management, we might be able to solve the problem at its root. We might even save billions of lives around the world and become this world's saviors!"

"Then the mission to take Alice out of Raccoon City would be completed along the way."

"And even if we guessed wrong, it doesn't matter. I scanned the area earlier. Raccoon City isn't very large, and we still have plenty of time before the nuclear blast falls. We can complete the mission of escorting Alice out of Raccoon City then."

An answer she had worked out herself was obviously more convincing than something someone else had told her.

At this point, Zhan Lan could not help getting excited.

Saving the world was such a great undertaking that merely thinking about it was thrilling. Girls were no exception.

Zhan Lan looked at Uchiha Gen, who was about to lead them to save the world, and felt that he seemed to shine even more brightly at this moment.

"I didn't quite understand all that, but if we fight our way to the bottom of the Hive, we might be able to drag out the real mastermind behind Resident Evil, right?"

"Then what are we waiting for? Let's go now!"

Zheng Zha had completely recovered from the discomfort of his first killing battle. Rubbing his fists together, he prepared to continue fighting.

He wanted to save the world too!

Seeing that morale was high, Uchiha Gen nodded in satisfaction.

Teammates capable of exercising initiative were certainly more useful than AI-like teammates who only obeyed orders.

He immediately waved his hand. "Then let's move."

Soon afterward, the Central Continent Team sprang into action.

The surface was temporarily safe, so they left Alice and the others where they were.

After opening the Hive's steel doors, Uchiha Gen did not waste time starting the train. He simply broke into a sprint toward the underground levels.

Of the three, even Zhan Lan, whose enhancements were the weakest, had decent physical abilities by now and could also use Chakra.

She was not slow when running. With Uchiha Gen leading, Zheng Zha covering the rear, and Zhan Lan protected in the middle, the three steadily approached the entrance to the underground Hive at twenty meters per second.

On the way, Zheng Zha suddenly had an idea. "If Umbrella Corporation's upper management really is hiding down there, and we kill our way in like this, if they can't beat us, will they set off some high-yield Nuclear Weapon and take us down with them?"

Uchiha Gen gave him a definite answer. "Definitely not."

He then explained, "First, the Main God wouldn't assign a mission that guaranteed death. If there were Nuclear Bombs so deep underground, the Explosion would cause the mountain to collapse, and all of us would die. Second, Umbrella Corporation's upper management definitely valued their own lives."

"They certainly wouldn't want to live on top of Nuclear Bombs. I guess they'll use Laser Weapons systems and a large number of Bio-weapons as defensive measures to protect the underground Hive."

As they spoke, less than a minute passed before the Central Continent Team was about to reach the entrance to the underground Hive.

At that moment, Zhan Lan began reporting the situation. "A large number of Lickers have begun appearing in the underground Hive. There is also a new type of Bio-weapon we haven't seen before, one that looks a lot like a Tyrant. Together, there are at least two hundred of them."

"Besides that, deep inside the Hive, there is a dark zone that Mental Scan cannot detect."

"I don't know whether it's Telekinesis or some technology Umbrella Corporation possesses that can block Mental Power."

"Unless something unexpected happens, we'll face attacks from numerous Bio-weapons on the platform at the Hive entrance."

Rather than becoming angry, Uchiha Gen was delighted. "They're panicking. It looks like our guess was correct. Umbrella Corporation is hiding deep beneath this Hive. Otherwise, they wouldn't have deployed so many Bio-weapons to stop us."

In truth, when he had first entered the Main God Space, Uchiha Gen had wanted to storm the underground Hive and kill Umbrella Corporation's upper management for Score Grinding.

If this had been the original movie, his strength as a Chunin would have been enough to slaughter them all.

But unfortunately, this was the Resident Evil World of the Main God Space, and Umbrella Corporation's Bio-weapons could all unlock their Gene Locks.

That was why Uchiha Gen had chosen to play it safe. Only after he had finished Score Grinding, returned to the Main God Space, and strengthened himself did he return to this biological Hive.
