Overview

Spirit Hall is a vast Soul Master organization headquartered in Spirit City. It registers Soul Masters across the continent, provides monthly stipends to registered members, recruits talented youths, operates an academy, and maintains a force of bishops, elite Soul Masters, Soul Saints, Soul Douluo, and Titled Douluo. Its resources and concentration of powerful Soul Masters lead Madara to judge that even the two empires combined may be unable to defeat Spirit City alone. 11 216

By the later story, Spirit Hall abandons restraint and openly seeks continental dominance. History

Early operations

Spirit Hall conducts Spirit Awakening ceremonies in villages through Soul Masters such as Su Yuntao. After discovering Madara’s Innate Full Soul Power and Sharingan, Su Yuntao immediately attempts to recruit him, but Madara refuses. 4 5

Su Yuntao later directs Madara to register at Spirit Hall in Nuoding City, explaining the monthly stipend available to registered Soul Masters. Madara obtains a Soul Master badge through Ma Xiunuo, though he remains suspicious of Spirit Hall’s motives. 11

Conflict with Madara

Spirit Hall’s Golden Generation encounters Madara during the Extreme North mission. After he dismisses them as unimpressive, Yan, Xie Yue, and Hu Liena confront him to defend Spirit Hall’s honor; all three are severely wounded. 149 164 166

Bishop Lin arrives with Spirit Hall reinforcements to protect Hu Liena. Despite coordinating Soul Kings and Soul Emperors and using the Star Chess Formation, he cannot stop Madara’s Susanoo. 166 167

During the Continental Elite Soul Master Competition, Spirit Hall summons Madara to meet the Pope in Spirit City. It also awards three soul bones as promised despite the Golden Generation’s defeat, with Bibi Dong warning that the recipients may not be able to keep them safely. 216 231

Spirit Hall later surrounds and kills Madara, publicly announcing his death and displaying his corpse before its main hall as a warning to enemies. Over two years, Spirit Hall grows increasingly aggressive. Its Soul Hunting Division attacks those deemed heretics, and the organization pressures other sects through threats and inducements; factions that refuse submission are exterminated. 268

Spirit Hall destroys the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan during its ancestral worship ceremony. It kills members across three mountain peaks, besieges Yu Yuanzhen with six Titled Douluo, and later pursues surviving clan members for bounties. 296 299

Spirit Hall infiltrates Heaven Dou Palace by placing its elites among the Imperial Guards and assists Qian Renxue’s coup under the identity of Crown Prince Xue Qinghe. 308

It subsequently issues a summons demanding that all Soul Masters submit or face eventual eradication. Its envoys attempt to absorb the four elemental academies, invoking the destruction of the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan as a threat. 313 314

Spirit Hall invites the Ninjutsu Sect to a Sect Conference intended to select new Upper Three Sects and Lower Four Sects after the previous order’s collapse. Madara rejects the invitation, viewing the conference as a display of Spirit Hall’s prestige and power. 324
