Background / History
Tang San retained memories of a previous life as an Outer Sect disciple of the Tang Sect. He devoted himself to hidden weapons and possessed substantial combat experience, though he considered himself far less seasoned than Madara. 4
He grew up in Holy Spirit Village with Tang Hao and Madara, Tang Hao's adopted son. Tang San habitually watched the sunrise and practiced each morning, while also handling domestic work in the blacksmith shop. 1 125 During his Spirit Awakening, he manifested Blue Silver Grass and initially believed it to be a Waste Spirit; the revelation of his Innate Full Soul Power gave him a path toward becoming a Soul Master. 4
Although he first offered to remain home and care for Tang Hao, Tang San admitted that he wanted to become strong. He departed for Nuoding Junior Soul Master Academy to pursue that goal. 8 There, he reunited with Madara, met Xiao Wu, and developed his place within the Shrek group. 13 44
Tang San later discovered that his second martial soul was the Clear Sky Hammer and that Tang Hao was the famed Clear Sky Douluo. Titan and the Strength Clan consequently recognized him as their Young Master. 7 124 The revelation left him conflicted, but Madara's support helped steady him. 125
After Xiao Wu sacrificed herself, Tang San took her away and eventually returned to reunite with his former Shrek comrades five years later, carrying Xiao Wu in rabbit form. He also sought information on the mysterious expert who had taken Madara's body. 296 304 By the time of his visit to Metal City, he had established the Tang Sect and sought to recruit Divine Craftsman Lou Gao. 322
Appearance
Tang San is first described as a blue-haired boy, initially half a head shorter than Madara. As he matures, he grows taller and develops into a refined young nobleman. 1 319
- Blue hair. 1
- His eyes emit purple light when he uses the Purple Demon Eye. 227
- Possesses eight spider-like lances extending from his back as an External Soul Bone. 80
- Later carries the refined bearing of a young nobleman. 319
Personality
Tang San is consistently calm, courteous, and mature beyond his age. He remains composed during his Spirit Awakening, speaks politely even to opponents, and attributes his knowledge to Grandmaster's teaching rather than claiming credit for himself. 4 67 97
His mild exterior conceals a calculating and ruthless combat mind. He can develop lethal battlefield strategies involving poison-infused Blue Silver Grass and hidden-weapon fragments, and he is willing to use them against opponents who threaten his allies. 198
He is deeply loyal to Madara, Xiao Wu, and his Shrek companions. Tang San repeatedly resolves to grow stronger when others are endangered, and he is prepared to sacrifice his own life to save Xiao Wu. 209 213 His compassion also extends to enemies: after defeating Tainuo and Tailong, he chose mercy and detoxified Tainuo rather than allowing Madara to kill them. 120
