The next day, the blazing sun hung high in the sky.
Moriarty and Lilith got up late. After going downstairs and asking the uncle, they learned that Quirrell had already gone to Shengbo Salan.
"Breakfast for you two." The uncle brought Sowarangi Meat Rolls, Bugassa Bread, and fresh milk to the table. Lilith ate in small bites and said to Moriarty, "I slept especially well last night. The inn must have some kind of soundproofing enchantment. Hey! What's that?"
Lilith watched in alarm as a little black snake crawled onto Moriarty's wrist.
"Don't be afraid. This is one of the Ghost Snakes I released yesterday. These adorable little fellows kept watch for us during the night and got in touch with the local snakes here."
The little black snake turned into a line of ink-black writing on Moriarty's wrist. After reading it, he gradually got the picture, and the words slowly faded away.
Lilith asked curiously, "What did they say?"
"A group of vampires has set their sights on us. After breakfast, I'll find a secluded, dense forest and deal with those idiots. You'll stay at the inn."
A faint, savage smile appeared on Moriarty's face. There were never enough points, and now a group of vampires who didn't know their place had come to die. Sure enough, 777 was a lucky number.
