Background

The demons are an ancient interstellar force that advocates freedom through the abandonment of restraint, moral order, and social norms. They have historically possessed considerable influence and supporting civilizations, but their ideological conflict with the angels led to repeated suppression and destruction. Despite this, the demons repeatedly recovered and returned as one of the few forces capable of directly opposing the Angel Civilization. 70

Morgana—formerly the angel Liang Bing—rules as Demon Queen. Her return to activity brings demons into the Solar System, where she claims an Earth exploration ship and its crew as her property. She subsequently converts humans, including Wang Xudong and others, into demons. 70 75

After angelic suppression weakens, the demon civilization expands across the known universe. It conquers life planets, spreads demonic genes, forcibly converts populations, and strips conquered civilizations of protection or autonomy. Its expansion eventually occupies nearly half of Morgana’s displayed star map. 174 207

Appearance

Demons have no single fixed appearance. Converted demons and native demons vary widely in size, coloration, physiology, equipment, and combat role.

Ideology

Demons frame their doctrine as liberation: individuals are encouraged to obey their impulses, discard restraint, embrace degeneration, and revere Morgana. 174

In practice, demonic rule permits and encourages slaughter, torture, cannibalism, and the exploitation of weaker beings. Wang Xudong, an Earth-born mid-level demon, is horrified by the conduct of demon forces on conquered worlds and rejects it as morally wrong even while serving within their ranks. 174

Demonic Gene Conversion

Demons can spread demonic genes among local populations, creating new followers and replenishing their forces.

Resurrection Through Dark Information

Major Conflicts

War with the Angels

The Angel Civilization is the demons’ oldest and most persistent enemy. Their conflict has lasted tens of thousands of years and centers on incompatible ideologies: angelic order and justice against demonic freedom and degeneration. 70 107

After Kaisha’s fall, Angel King Yan rallies allied civilizations to attack the rapidly expanding demons. The resulting war in the Ares Galaxy pits millions of angels against forces that eventually number in the billions, most of them converted demons. 219 220

Demon strategy relies on overwhelming numbers, attrition, repeated resurrection, attacks on angel logistics, and simultaneous pressure on multiple fronts. Morgana commands much of the conflict remotely to avoid direct confrontation with Hexi. 221 223

Conflict with the Pan-Human Federation

Morgana views Han Fei as an ambitious and irreconcilable rival. She sends allied forces to probe Earth’s strength and later directs major assaults against Pan-Human Federation territory. 207 292

Atuo leads a force of roughly one million demons and allied warships against the Dawnlight Fleet. Although the demon army inflicts severe losses, Han Fei traps it with a black hole, absorbs most of the force, and eliminates the remaining demons on Mars. 239 246 247

The Federation later begins retaliatory strikes against demon resource worlds and weapon-production planets, using Dark Information Sealing Devices to deny the demons their resurrection advantage. 296

Invasion of Lieyang

Demons led by Suo Dun and Axin breach Lieyang’s wormhole blockade and massacre Heavenly Soldiers and Generals. Suo Dun kills Tiger Fiend Guardian Yuan Li, while Axin severely injures Crimson Phoenix Guardian Wu Zhao. 301
