Background / History

Creation and early protection

Nuwa created the Human Race after witnessing the devastation of the Witch-Demon conflict and seeking a peaceful alternative to the warring races. The first twelve humans were formed from sacred soil and divine water; Nuwa then proclaimed the race's commitment to conscience, propriety, reverence for nature, and self-improvement. 59

The Heavenly Dao immediately attempted to erase the newborn race with World-Destroying Thunder, followed by divine wind, fire, and inner demons. Nuwa defended them with the Mountain and River Diagram, while Li Cha used his tea implements and Heavenly Mechanism Umbrella to shield them. The Great Dao ultimately recognized the Human Race and granted Great Dao Merit. 60

Early hardship and expansion

Early humans were physically frail. Apart from the first generation, whose lifespans reached one Yuanhui, later generations generally lived no more than a century and possessed only faint innate qi. Their survival depended on fire-making, clothing, shelter, cooperation, and eventually self-created cultivation methods. 63 85

Their short lifespan became a demographic advantage: after one Yuanhui, the population exceeded two billion across the Primordial World, with billions still concentrated around Buzhou Mountain. Six major branches migrated from the ancestral land into new regions. 66

Some humans intermarried with the Witch Race, producing the Witch-Human Clan. These descendants inherited robust Witch physiques and talents while retaining the ability to cultivate human techniques. 66

Governance and succession

• Chen Du served as the Human Race's sacred capital and the seat of its Co-Lords. 87 98
