Background / History

Li Cha was originally the Innate Enlightenment Tea Tree and spent two hundred thousand years imprisoned within a Heavenly Dao sealing formation in a valley near Buzhou Mountain. During the Dragon-Han Calamity's final tribulation, his transformation tribulation merged with the wider calamity and produced World-Destroying Divine Thunder. He withstood eighty-one strikes with the Heavenly Mechanism Umbrella, then transformed into a young Daoist. 3 16

Several kalpas later, Li Cha escaped the Heavenly Dao Sealing Grand Array by using the Chaos Pearl to erase his aura, karma, heavenly fate, and cultivation fluctuations. He began traveling the Primordial World in pursuit of materials needed to perfect the Tea Dao, healing the dying Ink Qilin Mo Ran and accepting him as a mount. 4

His early travels focused on building a complete tea ceremony system. He sought the Five Elements divine stones, Nine Heavens Breathing Soil, and Three Lights Divine Water; forged the Five Elements Furnace and Sacred Spirit Table; and gradually established the Tea Dao as a path of cultivation centered on harmony, clarity, and self-understanding. 6 9 15 22

Li Cha eventually established Yun Hua Grotto-Heaven as a teaching ground, where he preached the Tea Dao to hundreds of cultivators. Later, he claimed Fangzhang Island as the Way of Tea's ancestral court and relocated Yun Hua Grotto-Heaven into the Chaos Pearl. 30 76 78

During the conflicts surrounding the Human Dao, Earthly Dao, Heavenly Dao, and the Investiture of the Gods, Li Cha acted as both teacher and strategist. He aided the growth of the Human and Earthly Daos, opposed Hongjun's designs, manipulated the timing of the Investiture conflict through Kong Xuan, and sought to prevent future calamities from devastating the Primordial World. 49 70 123

At Li Meng's first-birthday banquet, the Twelve Ancestral Witches, Three Pure Ones, and the beings of the Primordial World jointly requested that he become Co-Lord of the Three Daos. Li Cha accepted after the Three Daos and the Great Dao acknowledged him, ascending to the Great Dao Realm. 164 165

Li Cha is a calculating strategist who hides his strength, exploits his enemies' timing, and treats large-scale conflicts as opportunities to restructure the Primordial World's order.
