Spirit Mountain.
Five figures gathered in the same instant above Spirit Mountain.
Luohu, Yang Mei, and Karma came from the western horizon.
Hongjun and Fate arrived from the direction of the Underworld.
They hovered there quietly, divided into two distinct camps, as clear as the Jing and Wei rivers.
Luohu, Yang Mei, and Karma stood together.
Hongjun and Fate stood on the other side.
Hongjun's gaze first fell on Karma. He sized up that brand-new Dao Body, then nodded slightly.
"Congratulations, Daoist Friend Karma. Your Dao Body has been remolded; the Great Dao lies within reach."
Karma nodded faintly.
"Thanks to all of you."
The words were neither warm nor cold.
Luohu laughed when he heard it, then glanced at Fate. That body likewise radiated the unfathomable aura of Fate's rules.
"Daoist Friend Fate, I trust you have been well."
On the other side, Yang Mei looked toward Fate.
"Daoist Friend Fate, congratulations on your return."
Fate cupped his hands toward the two of them.
"Many thanks to you two Daoist Friends for your concern."
The five of them stood just like that above the ruins of Spirit Mountain, only a few steps separating them from one another.
A subtle tension permeated the air.
The invisible standoff between Karma and Fate was almost visible to the naked eye.
Their eyes met, and neither spoke.
Luohu and Yang Mei exchanged a glance.
Hongjun spoke at just the right moment.
"Two Daoist Friends."
His voice was neither high nor low, carrying a sense of mediation from the center.
"I will not judge the grudges of the past."
"But right now, we have a common enemy."
"Zhou Ming and the others may return to the Primordial Wilderness from Chaos at any moment."
"If you two Daoist Friends spend your energy on internal strife..."
