Arc 25The Paths Beyond Sainthood

Sun Wukong’s capture and escape concluded the Journey to the West, while Wu claimed the Humanity Dao and Zhou Ming arranged breakthroughs for four cultivators. Tathagata and Haotian both failed to attain the Dao through the Slaying Three Corpses Method, leaving the Five Saints to plan to sever their Saint Positions together.

  • Haotian sent Yang Jian to capture Sun Wukong, but Taishang Laojun struck the monkey with his Vajra Ring and the Heavenly Court imprisoned him in the Eight Trigrams Furnace.
  • Sun Wukong broke out of the furnace, rampaged through the Heavenly Court, and accepted Tathagata’s challenge to escape from his palm.

Arc 26The Saints Sever Their Positions

As Hongjun and the Heavenly Dao struggled, Zhou Ming and the Wu Clan gathered allies and prepared for the final battle. Five Saints severed their Saint Positions, while Haotian and Yaochi completed their foundations and continued cultivating.

  • Jieyin and Zhunti borrowed Merit from Pingxin in exchange for placing Buddhism under the Wu Clan’s command.
  • Haotian learned from Hongjun that the Slaying Three Corpses Method was flawed, then confirmed with Hongyun that the Method of Shattering the Three Corpses was genuine.
  • Zhou Ming told Hongyun that Hongjun was fighting the Heavenly Dao’s independent consciousness and persuaded him to wait rather than attack.

The Heavenly Dao outmaneuvered Hongjun, completed its transformation, and launched a war against the Primordial World. Zhou Ming led the allied forces into battle and, after weakening the Heavenly Dao’s defenses, revealed a fragment of the Jade of Creation to expose an opening for a decisive strike.

  • The Heavenly Dao manipulated Hongjun into freeing Destiny and Karma’s Remnant Souls, then destroyed them and took over Hongjun’s body.
  • Haotian and Yaochi defected to Zhou Ming and revealed the locations of the Heavenly Dao Space and Purple Firmament Palace.

  • Zhou Ming and the Twelve Ancestral Witches destroyed the Heavenly Dao, then hurried to help Pingxin as Luohu’s forces fought the allies in the Primordial World.
  • The Earthly Dao and Humanity Dao betrayed Pingxin and Wu, while Hongyun, Minghe, Taiyi, Candle Dragon, and Pingxin sacrificed themselves to help survivors escape.
