Background / History
Baili Pangpang enters the recruit training camp under the name Baili Tumming, presenting himself as the pampered young master of the Baili Group. He becomes Lin Qiye's roommate after arriving with bodyguards and a mountain of luxury-watch gift boxes, determined to become Qiye's friend. Despite his obvious wealth, he tries clumsily to appear ordinary; Lin Qiye initially judges him as kind-hearted but simple-minded. 71 72
His family status gives him access to an enormous collection of Forbidden Items and four personal Forbidden Item Wielders—the Earth, Fire, Wind, and Water Envoys. Pangpang claims that the four possess peak Chuan-realm power and can contend with a Sea-realm opponent together. He had relied on them through more than a hundred prior assassination attempts, making their later betrayal especially devastating. 133 415
During his early missions, Pangpang uses Forbidden Items to compensate for his comparatively limited direct combat power. He saves himself and Cao Yuan from a hotel explosion with Freedom Space, frees recruits trapped in soul form, and transports allies on the flying sword formed by Yaoguang. 115 160 205
A Daoist later gives Pangpang a Jade Ruyi, telling him that he has his own path. The Ruyi glows from his abdomen after Baili Jing kills him, and Pangpang subsequently awakens, burns his broken peace talisman, dons a Pigsy Mask, and symbolically bids farewell to “Baili Tumming.” 380 428 432
Baili Family Conspiracy
Pangpang leaves for Guangzhou-Shenzhen to attend a family birthday banquet, but his private jet is sabotaged and shot down. After surviving, he realizes that Baili Jing has used the Baili Group's influence to hunt him and cannot safely contact either the police or his own household. 410 414
The Earth, Fire, Wind, and Water Envoys reveal that they have been ordered to kill him. Pangpang attempts to escape using Yaoguang and several Forbidden Items, but the Envoys and three users of replica Thunder God Pillars overwhelm him. 415
When he returns to the Baili manor, Baili Jing reveals that Pangpang's Mental Power was sealed through drugging and that Baili Xin sanctioned the assassination. Pangpang learns that the identity of “Baili Tumming” was manufactured by the Baili Group: he was raised as an adopted heir and scapegoat rather than a true son of the family. 426 431
Baili Jing murders Pangpang after mocking his faith in Lin Qiye and the Fifth Reserve Team. Pangpang's conviction that his comrades will not abandon him becomes his final act of defiance before his apparent death. 428
Abilities & Skills
Forbidden Zone: Disarm All Things
Pangpang's Forbidden Zone manifests through a Tai Chi Bagua diagram. By reversing yin and yang, he can forcibly sever other wielders' control over Forbidden Items and draw those items to himself.
- His Sea-realm breakthrough allows him to disarm Forbidden Items wielded by opponents below the Immeasurable realm, causing mental backlash to their former users. 437
- The ability can seize several items at once; during the Baili Family battle, eight disarmed Forbidden Items orbit him as protection. 437
- He can invoke Bagua trigrams, including Li for fire and Zhen for lightning. 439
- His ability cannot simply overcome every defense: Baili Jing's Primordial Devouring Sword Sheath absorbs Pangpang's elemental attacks and blocks his mental beam. 438 439
- At the Aurora River ruins, a mysterious cushion amplifies Disarm All Things from a range of several hundred meters to at least tens of kilometers, covering the city ruins and Demon Shrine. 718
Forbidden Item Mastery
Pangpang is exceptionally resourceful in deploying multiple Forbidden Items in rapid succession, often combining them for mobility, reconnaissance, defense, and crowd control.
- In soul form, he activates the Soul Severing Blade to cut himself free from a soul-binding spider web. 160
- True Sight Eye reveals tangible and intangible targets, including soul bodies and the ethereal threads forming the web. 160
- Yaoguang forms a golden flying sword capable of carrying multiple people and provides aerial mobility in combat. 160 205
- He uses One Becomes Three Thousand to create a rain of swords and Thunder Roll Wind to unleash wind and lightning attacks. 327 394
- His Green Jade Armor can repel unusual physical assaults and substantially reinforce his strikes. 438 484
- He redistributes dangerous Forbidden Items among his teammates rather than keeping them all for himself, giving Sky Palace to Jialan and Elegy to An Qingyu. 454
Jade Ruyi and Daoist Transformation
The Jade Ruyi left to him by the Daoist is tied to Pangpang's deeper potential.
- It emits light from his abdomen after his death at Baili Jing's hands. 428
- Pangpang later injures himself to elevate his Mental Power, retrieves the Ruyi, and transforms into a Daoist figure with enhanced power. 1088
- Heroic Spirits eventually identify him as Lingbao Tianzun, though Pangpang himself insists that he has always been Pangpang. 1455 1465
Spirit of the Artifact: Thunder Beast
Pangpang can provoke and summon the Thunder Beast, the Spirit of the Artifact associated with the Yata no Kagami.
- When the Calamity of Soldiers destroys one of Pangpang's Forbidden Items, Pangpang summons the Thunder Beast to strike it with a crimson pillar of lightning. 752
- His Disarm All Things can affect the Thunder Beast's artifact spirit by tugging at it, although it cannot directly harm it. 758
- Pangpang repeatedly teased the Thunder Beast during his decades in Japan and fears its retaliation once it descends from the clouds. 758
Combat and Restraint Techniques
Though initially reliant on equipment, Pangpang develops practical combat instincts and close-quarters confidence.
- While disguised as Marshal Tian Peng, he blocks Sun Luan's saber with a fire net, knocks him airborne with an uppercut, and uses Thunder Roll Wind to send him through several walls. 394
- He uses a spiritual rope to restrain an infected dog rather than kill it, even while struggling against an influence that aggravates his emotions. 875
- At Klein realm, he redirects an enemy's Black Fire saber with his Bagua diagram and binds the attacker with Earth Binding. 1375

Story Role / Major Arcs
Recruit Training Camp
Pangpang joins the recruit training camp and becomes Lin Qiye's roommate. His extravagant behavior and strange friendliness establish him as comic relief, but his ability to deploy rare Forbidden Items makes him a major asset during the recruits' early crises. 71 84 160
Team 017 and the Gusu Mission
Alongside Cao Yuan and Jialan, Pangpang operates as part of Team 017. He adopts the Marshal Tian Peng persona, saves Molly from the controlled Sun Luan, and begins openly pursuing a relationship with her. 389 394 409
Fall of the Baili Family
After the assassination attempt exposes the truth of his manufactured identity, Pangpang returns to confront the Baili Family. His apparent death, rebirth, Sea-realm breakthrough, and mass disarmament of the Family's Forbidden Item Wielders reverse the conflict. He rejects Baili Xin's offer to restore his heir status, declaring his loyalty to the Fifth Reserve Team instead. 428 437 440
Human Circle Time Displacement
Pangpang enters Japan's Human Circle 51 years before the rest of his team because of a time discrepancy connected to the Aurora River ruins. He spends decades evading Oracle Envoys, exploring Japan, and eventually follows a whispering call to the palace and cushion that amplify his Forbidden Zone. 717 777
Later Night Watchman Service
Pangpang becomes an instructor, introducing recruits to Forbidden Items beneath a display of items gathered around his Tai Chi Bagua diagram. He later serves as a Klein-realm combatant, using his abilities in operations including the Huangpu River crisis. 857 1375
Lingbao Tianzun
As Heroic Spirits recognize him as Lingbao Tianzun, Pangpang struggles with the implication that his identity extends beyond the person he understands himself to be. He leaves to go “where [he] should go,” and is later present as Lingbao Tianzun at the beginning of a new universe cycle. 1455 1465 2017
