Population and Society

• Indigenous non-human peoples historically made up over 70% of the population, while humans accounted for less than 30%. 35
• Under earlier Zichuan Family rule, the human minority occupied the social elite, while other races were commonly forced into labor, farming, construction, and domestic service. 35
• The major peoples include:
  • Beastmen / Zoe Clan — the largest military population and the Holy Temple’s principal community. 35 106
  • Dragonmen — regarded as possessing particularly strong combat power. 104
  • Snake Clan — valued for archery and night vision, but less suited to close combat. 142

History

Government and Political Structure

• The Far East Autonomous Government was founded after the capture of Korni City; its military arm initially operated as the Far East Free Army. 116
• The Far East’s political unity depends heavily on the authority of the King of Light. Its many races and tribal factions are historically suspicious of one another, making Zichuan Xiu the principal figure preventing fragmentation. 137 138
• The Far East later developed into a self-governing military region. Its officers were appointed by Zichuan Xiu, its military law system was controlled by his confidants, and the Imperial Capital no longer exercised direct control over the army. 276
• Zichuan Xiu’s proposed political ideal was a Far East in which Zoe Clan, humans, Snake Clan, Dragonmen, Elf-monsters, Dwarves, and even Demon Race residents would receive equal treatment. 106
• The region’s strategic policy relied on balancing the Demon Kingdom and the Zichuan Family while avoiding dependence on either power. 106

Military

Far East Army

• The Far East Army is a multi-racial force centered on Beastmen formations, supported by human units, Dragonmen, Snake Clan archers, Dwarves, and later surrendered Demon troops. 142 308
• Beastmen form the core fighting force and often serve as mid- and low-ranking officers; their strength lies in their numbers, courage, and loyalty to the King of Light. 274
• The army’s reputation was built on its discipline and treatment of civilians. King of Light’s troops were called the Righteous Army because they did not harass the populace and enforced rewards and punishments fairly. 144

Armament and Reforms

• More than 100,000 Far East soldiers were equipped as ironclad heavy infantry, wearing full scale armor, black steel helmets, face masks, greaves, and Far East Eagle gorgets. 272
• The army also fields light cavalry equipped with bows, quivers, sabers, light armor, and black cloaks. 272
• During the campaign against Di Lin, the Far East mobilized 313,000 soldiers: sixty-eight Beastmen teams, ten human divisions, ten Xiu Battalion brigades, and twenty-six Demon vassal teams. Nearly 100,000 additional troops came from the Northeastern Six Provinces. 299

Economy and Development

• Demon occupation nearly collapsed the Far East economy by concentrating production on the Demon Kingdom’s war effort, enforcing grain collection, and driving villagers from their fields. 103
• Early Far East forces depended on grain, weapons, medicine, and equipment imported from Zichuan Family territory. 134
• Korni City recovered rapidly under Ming Yu’s administration, becoming prosperous and well-governed despite the ongoing war. 122
• The Far East leadership planned to use agricultural self-sufficiency to redirect funds toward machinery, arsenals, hospitals, and technical personnel. 122
• Zichuan Xiu later pursued a broader development program:
  • Large-scale steel mills and arms factories.

Relations

• Zichuan Family — Former ruler and occupier of the Far East; later a crucial trading partner and military ally against the Demon Kingdom. The Far East’s autonomous command structure nevertheless limits Imperial Capital control. 35 130 276
• Demon Kingdom — Invaded and treated the Far East as a colonial supply base, triggering the region’s uprising. Demon forces later negotiated autonomy when pressured by wider internal conflicts. 103 145
• King of Light / Zichuan Xiu — Founder of the autonomous government, commander of the Far East Army, and the central political figure holding the region’s divided races together. 116 137
• Holy Temple and Elder Budan — Major Beastmen spiritual authority; Budan supported the early resistance and debated the future of an independent Far East with Zichuan Xiu. 106
