Background / History
Slaughter Points first appear when Chen Lin discovers the Slaughter Jade Book in his mind. Its first page states that killing targets of different strengths yields varying amounts of Slaughter Points, which can be consumed to improve cultivation techniques. Chen Lin initially rejects killing innocent people for this purpose and identifies wild beasts, fierce beasts, and demonic beasts as viable targets instead. 1
Chen Lin confirms the system at the Chen Clan slaughterhouse, where killing a chicken awards 0.05 Slaughter Points. The low yield from livestock eventually becomes inadequate as his strength rises, leading him to hunt in the Two Realms Mountain Range and later enter increasingly dangerous secret realms. 4 19 20
By the time Chen Lin reaches the Martial King realm, the Slaughter Jade Book develops further functions. Its Alchemy Furnace can fuse cultivation techniques and martial skills for a Slaughter Point cost, while later campaigns in the West Mountain Secret Realm and Hunyuan Ancient Ruins allow Chen Lin to accumulate points in the tens and then hundreds of thousands. 237 253 302 317
Mechanics
Acquisition
Slaughter Points are awarded upon a target's death, with stronger targets generally providing greater returns. The reward is also relative to Chen Lin's own cultivation: as he grows stronger, low-level creatures become progressively less valuable or cease providing points altogether. 1 19 106 137
| Target | Recorded Reward | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Chicken | 0.05 | Chen Lin's first confirmed Slaughter Point reward. 4 |
| Fox wolf | 0.8 | Each fox wolf is comparable to an early-stage Martial Apprentice. 20 |
| Iron-Haired Dog | 1 | Comparable to a mid-stage Martial Apprentice. 24 |
| Assessment demonic beasts | 1.2–1.5 | Recorded during Chen Lin's Demon Slayer Envoy assessment. 26 |
| Spotted Scale Hounds / White Jade Horned Bulls | 2–3 | Awarded after Chen Lin kills several with Cold Moon Flying Daggers. 43 |
| Human Martial Artist | 10 | Awarded for killing a hostile fighter during Wu Fan's rescue. 45 |
| Martial Ancestor attackers | 24–30 each | A group of attackers yields 182 points in total. 115 |
| Red Scale Snakes | 42–48 | Chen Lin harvests points while inducing the snake pack to attack itself. 162 |
| Early-stage Demon King | 1,000 | Recorded during West Mountain Secret Realm hunts. 253 257 |
| Mid-stage Demon King | 2,000 | Awarded for the Blue Giant Wolf King and blood-flame python leader. 259 |
| Late-stage Demon King | 5,000–5,500 | Rewards vary between the Python King and Golden-Horned Cloud-Rending Roc. 265 300 |
- Chen Lin can gain points by delivering finishing blows to weakened demonic beasts, provided he kills them himself. 42
- He does not need to manually collect the resource; the Slaughter Jade Book issues an internal notification when points are gained. 4 20 253
- Point gains from weaker prey diminish as Chen Lin's realm rises. At the early Martial Ancestor stage, ordinary creatures below Demon Soldier rank effectively no longer yield points. 106 137
Allocation and Upgrades
Slaughter Points can be assigned to cultivation techniques, martial skills, and—in Chen Lin's earlier growth—physical strength and soul-related attributes. Upgrades provide immediate comprehension, allowing him to gain practical insights without relying solely on conventional training. 1 24 26
- Upgrading the Basic Body Tempering Method from Level 3 to Level 5 raises Chen Lin's physical-strength score to 90. 5
- Raising the Basic Movement Technique improves Chen Lin's fine body control, evasions, and hunting efficiency. 26
- Increasing Basic Swordplay reduces the Slaughter Point requirement for upgrading the Super Grade Divine Firmament Swordplay, showing that related mastery can lower later costs. 47
- A 300-point investment raises the Mysterious Origin Body Tempering Technique to Level 4 and restores Chen Lin's physical and mental fatigue after continuous combat. 58
- Chen Lin spends 1,365 points to raise both the Eight-Nine Golden Lotus True Scripture and Spirit Soul Art, then spends 1,183 more on the Nine Revolutions Mysterious Origin Art and God Slaying Stab. 162
- At higher levels, individual upgrades become extremely expensive: 6,500 points are used on God Slaying Stab, and 10,950 points on the Mysterious Ice Dragon Qi Art. 260
- Nearly 57,000 points are spent to raise the Martial Dao Treasure Codex directly to Level 10. 302
Slaughter Jade Book Functions
- Status display — Records Chen Lin's realm, attributes, techniques, skills, and current Slaughter Point balance. 1
- Technique and skill enhancement — Converts Slaughter Points into levels and corresponding knowledge or cultivation gains. 1 26
- Alchemy Furnace — A later Book function that can fuse cultivation techniques and martial skills; Chen Lin's attempted fusion of four fully upgraded arts requires 6,800 Slaughter Points. 237 266
- Jade Pot — A later Book function that devours flesh and blood to condense blood beads, improving bloodline potential and concentration. Its described operation is separate from the point-allocation system. 237
Limitations
- The system does not award a fixed universal amount; rewards depend on the target's strength and appear to decline when the target is far weaker than Chen Lin. 1 19 137
- Advanced techniques can require thousands or tens of thousands of Slaughter Points per level. 237 260 302
- Rapid upgrades may cause pain, headaches, or a need to adapt before Chen Lin can safely control his increased strength. 162 254 255
- Chen Lin deliberately avoids raising his cultivation too quickly at times, believing that maintaining a lower level lets him harvest Slaughter Points from more targets effectively. 325
Associated Entities
- Chen Lin — The Slaughter Jade Book's recorded host; he accumulates and spends Slaughter Points to accelerate his cultivation and combat development. 1 318
- Slaughter Jade Book — The artifact that records Slaughter Points, displays Chen Lin's status, and enables their allocation. 1
- Alchemy Furnace — A Slaughter Jade Book function that requires Slaughter Points to fuse selected arts. 266
- Jade Pot — A Slaughter Jade Book function used to process flesh and blood for bloodline enhancement. 237
