The prerequisite for sainthood is not strength alone. Zhao Dongjun's framework requires strength, spirit—Martial Will—and heart; forced ascension without heart severely limits further progress 689.

• The Grandmaster Realm's defining process is Qi Transformation of the Whole Body, eliminating bodily weak points in combat 261.
• Human Martial Saints with complete whole-body qi transformation can rival Demigods of other races and often surpass them in direct combat 261.
• Advancing further requires transforming true qi through the absorption of Stellar Void True Energy, ultimately producing Divine Power 566.

Martial Domain

A newly advanced Martial Saint's Force-Piercing-the-Void ability develops into Void Mastery. Beyond Void Mastery lies the Martial Domain, a higher form of externalized Martial Dao power 676.

• Martial Domain-level power can form an invisible force field around the user, preventing attacks from reaching their body 676.
• Martial Saints can use their power while respecting rather than overturning the laws of mechanics; true alteration of natural laws belongs to the Void God Realm and above 336.

Physical Transformation

Martial Saints possess bodies that return to a deceptively simple appearance: their muscles need not remain enlarged, yet they can expand their bodies several times over at will 709.

• They can stand, walk, and run through the air without regard for gravity 709.
• Human Martial Saints remain heavily reliant on true qi. At this realm, a human martial artist's strength is described as roughly one part physical body to nine parts true qi 663.
• Human body-tempering methods historically reached only the Grandmaster Realm, leaving the physical body a weakness compared with Giants, dragons, and ferocious beasts 663.

Lifespan and Injury

No human Martial Saint is known to have died naturally; those recorded died in battle or from injuries and illness. Their natural lifespan remains unknown 176.

• Old injuries can cause a Martial Saint to fall in realm or limit their combat strength 712.
• Foundation damage is a major concern even at high ranks, making recovery resources and careful consolidation essential 712.

• Martial Saint Heavenly Stair Trial Grounds — Blue Star's highest-level Heavenly Stair trials. Only ten slots are available per year; each Martial Saint may attempt them once every three years and must supply the trial energy personally 570.
• Headless God components — Demigod remains that may be refined into a martial artist's body. Complete components can substantially strengthen even Martial Saints 570.
  • The head cannot be used, as a Demigod's residual influence may interfere with the user mentally and cause drastic personality changes 570.
• Stellar Void True Energy — The key resource for converting true qi into Divine Power and pursuing the Void God Realm 566.

Governance and Status

Martial Saints occupy a unique political position in Blue Star's martial civilization.

• Zhao Dongjun established the Martial Saint Consultation Council, which reduced conflict among the Ten Realms 724.
• The council later became known as the “Muddy-the-Waters Council” because Martial Saints increasingly avoided internal conflicts and relinquished authority over lower-realm affairs 724.
• Matters below the Martial Saint Realm are generally left to the Supreme Court, allowing Martial Saints to focus on Martial Dao and threats from foreign Demigods 724.
• In wartime, high-ranking Martial Saints may hold authority exceeding that of the Supreme Court 766.
• The Special Martial Saint Protection Plan, also called the Successor Plan or Final Ember Plan, is reserved for Martial Saints whose survival may significantly affect Dragon Nation and human civilization 766.
