The Proper Use of the Rinnegan

Senga set out to sea on his small boat.

He sailed to a waters with plenty of fish, cast a huge net into the ocean, then lay down on the boat to rest a bit. The fishery resources in One Piece were quite abundant, and before long, Senga felt his boat start to rock.

Senga grabbed the net with one hand and pulled lightly; the net, filled with all kinds of fish and shrimp, was hauled up. The catch was massive, all of them struggling desperately.

Senga raised his hand and unleashed a Lightning Release Ninjutsu of very low power at the fish and shrimp in the net.

Lightning Release: New Energy Fishing Net Technique

A dense cluster of electric currents spread from Senga's palm, instantly enveloping the entire net.

The fish and shrimp inside were immediately subdued by the New Energy Fishing Net, becoming docile in an instant.

"Not a bad haul." Senga nodded in satisfaction and was about to leave when suddenly, a huge wave surged on the sea surface. An enormous eel head emerged, followed by half its body bursting out of the water—dozens of meters long. Its blood-red eyes locked onto Senga and the prey in his hands.

"A Sea King? Could it be the only one in these waters?" Senga stared expressionlessly at the colossal creature before him, thinking to himself.

In the East Blue, the weakest of the four seas, especially in such a remote area, Sea Kings were actually quite rare.

Still, as intimidating as a Sea King looked, in Senga's eyes, it was just a slightly bigger fish. After witnessing the world-shaking power of the tailed beasts in Naruto, a Sea King that was merely large in size didn't amount to much.

"Whatever. Might as well use you to test the power of these eyes, even if it's overkill." Senga looked up at the Sea King.

The Sea King was eyeing the tiny human below and the pile of prey in his hands, ready for a feast—then it saw Senga raise his head and met those purple Rinnegan.

Instinctively, it felt a suffocating terror. On reflex, it tried to flee, but it was too late.

Rinnegan: Genjutsu

An invisible wave of energy spread out. The Sea King jolted violently, then its eyes turned into the same Rinnegan pattern as Senga's, and its life force began to fade rapidly.

Rinnegan: Genjutsu—a technique that in the original Naruto manga had once allowed Sasuke to control several tailed beasts with a single glance. Using it on a mere dozen-meter-long Sea King was clearly overkill. The creature couldn't withstand the mental shock at all; its consciousness was wiped out instantly, and it flopped onto the water's surface with a splash, beginning to sink.

"This is way more useful than something like Conqueror's Haki. But I can't just waste such a big chunk of meat." Senga watched the sinking Sea King, raised his hand again, and a black vortex formed in his palm.

Universal Pull!

A tremendous gravitational force erupted from Senga's palm, and the dozens-of-meters-long Sea King corpse was immediately yanked back up.

He pulled the corpse to the stern of the boat, then turned his head to look toward the island he had set out from, roughly estimating the distance. With a slight opening of his Rinnegan, Shinra Tensei!

Another powerful Repulsion Force radiated outward from Senga as the center. The Sea King's corpse was instantly blasted away by the immense force and vanished from sight.

It's worth noting that Senga's Rinnegan were his own, unlike Nagato's, which required sacrificing his life force. Using basic Six Paths abilities like Shinra Tensei didn't come with that annoying five-second cooldown, and their power grew infinitely with his Chakra and physical strength.

(Author's note: In One Piece, human physical strength is formidable. After being adapted by this world, the protagonist's body will be many times stronger than in his previous life, making it easier to describe his power.)

Watching the Sea King disappear from view, Senga clapped his hands in satisfaction.

"Well, that's what they call 'preparing the provisions before the troops march.'"
