Senga and Tokikake stood on opposite sides of the ring, both adjusting their states. The atmosphere was unusually quiet, and the spectators by the ring dared not even breathe, for fear of missing any exciting moments.
After a period of stalemate, Senga made the first move. He had entered Sage Mode, and his speed had increased more than severalfold. Tokikake, caught off guard, was sent flying by Senga's attack, only stopping at the very edge of the ring.
Senga gave Tokikake no chance to catch his breath, and the next wave of attacks followed closely. This time, Tokikake was prepared. He shifted his body to the side, seemingly dodging the attack, only to be blasted away again the next second.
Spitting out a small mouthful of blood, Tokikake wiped his mouth, utterly confused. He had clearly dodged the attack just now, so how was he still hit?
Suddenly, as if struck by an idea, he looked up at Senga and asked, "Advanced Armament Haki? You can use that too?"
Advanced Armament Haki, also known as Flowing Cherry Haki from the Wano Country arc of the pirate anime, allows one to hit an opponent without physically touching them. Of course, there is even more powerful Armament Haki, such as the kind that can cause internal damage. Those who can master this type of Haki are invariably top powerhouses on the seas.
Tokikake voiced his question, but in his heart, he was already convinced that Senga's previous attack was an application of Advanced Armament Haki.
It wasn't just him; the high-ranking officials in the stands thought the same.
Everyone present was a high-end combatant of the Marines and was certainly familiar with Advanced Armament Haki. But could a Marine cadet possibly master such a thing?
Kizaru glanced at Zephyr and said sarcastically, "Since when did Advanced Armament Haki become part of the training camp's curriculum? These new recruits are truly 'kawaii,' aren't they? Teacher Zephyr?"
Zephyr was silent for a moment. He knew Kizaru was subtly mocking him for giving Senga special tutoring. That was a fact, and there was nothing to say about it. However, based on Senga's attack just now, he knew it wasn't Advanced Armament Haki, because he hadn't taught him anything like that yet!
After some thought, Zephyr slowly spoke, "That wasn't Advanced Armament Haki. That attack was Senga's own technique. He calls it Sage Mode. When he enters that mode, he can utilize natural energy and even imbue it into his fists and feet. It does bear some resemblance to Advanced Armament Haki."
Sengoku chimed in to support him, "There is indeed a difference. Uchiha Senga didn't use Haki at all just now; his arms showed no changes."
Seeing the two of them refute him, Kizaru shut his mouth. After all, stirring up trouble wasn't his style, especially when one of them was his employer.
On the ring, Senga didn't bother explaining all this to Tokikake. Taking advantage of Tokikake's slightly disordered state after the previous blow, he directly raised his hand and unleashed his maximum-power Banshō Ten'in at Tokikake.
A massive gravitational force appeared. In the direction Senga's palm was facing, the stone slabs of the ring cracked inch by inch. Even the spectators behind Tokikake were struggling to hold their ground, about to be pulled towards Senga. This was even with Senga controlling the range of the Banshō Ten'in attack.
Tokikake, having just been injured, was suddenly faced with Banshō Ten'in and was also pulled in. "Damn it! Don't get too arrogant, rookie!"
Tokikake, having taken several hits, became enraged. He once again covered his right hand with Armament Haki. However, this time, the color of the Armament Haki was clearly different from before, presenting a reddish hue. This was true Advanced Armament Haki.
Tokikake swung his arm violently in mid-air, sending out an even more formidable wave that shot straight towards Senga.
Senga felt the danger of this attack. He used another Almighty Push, but its effect was minimal. Without hesitation, he quickly formed a Black Rod with his other hand to block in front of him.
Crack! The Black Rod snapped in response. This time, the one sent flying was Senga. Forcing himself to use the Deva Path's ability, Senga finally stabilized himself after flying more than ten meters.
Tokikake had regained a point and felt much better. However, he didn't hold back. He drew both his arms back to his waist, charged for a moment, and then unleashed them simultaneously towards Senga.
"Boar Impact!"
A transparent shockwave resembling a wild boar appeared on the field. It even let out a vivid roar towards the sky before charging straight at Senga.
Senga, who had just stabilized himself, was about to be hit. Gion in the stands nervously dug her nails into her thigh, while Ain, sitting below, bit her lip tightly. Everyone knew that Tokikake's attack was powerful; anyone hit by it would lose a layer of skin.
Boom! The center of the entire arena was covered in smoke, and shattered stone slabs flew everywhere. Marine officers guarding the ring quickly intervened, preventing casualties among the spectators.
"Senga!!!"
A shout rang out. Others didn't pay much attention, but Gion on the high platform looked in the direction of the sound.
The one who shouted was Ain, sitting below the stage. Seeing Senga disappear into the smoke, she couldn't control her emotions.
Seeing that it was a Marine cadet, and a pretty female cadet at that, Gion couldn't help but curl her lips. She thought to herself that she wasn't the only one interested in Senga. However, Senga's situation was still unknown, so she quickly put aside these scattered thoughts and focused intently on the center of the field.
After a long while, the smoke cleared.
Senga's figure appeared in everyone's sight. He was looking down, his right hand pointed in the direction the shockwave had come from, white smoke still rising from his hand.
However, what drew the most attention was his hand. A black circular pattern had appeared on his back, with five thick black lines connecting to his fingertips. The black circle was now pulsing, like a black heart.
Senga slowly raised his head and said softly, "Armament: Ascension."
Armament: Ascension? What was that? Tokikake was confused. The teacher hadn't taught him this!
Putting his arm down and relaxing slightly, Senga's gaze gradually turned dangerous. A terrifying aura emanated from his right hand.
Tokikake didn't dare to be careless. He tensed his body, preparing to face the next attack.
Feeling the explosive power in his right hand ready, Senga swung his right arm twelve times in rapid succession.
"Twelve Divine Air Strikes."
Twelve fist-shaped shockwaves formed an air wall, covering a vast area, making it almost impossible to dodge. The speed was so great that it even distorted the space it passed through.
Tokikake knew he couldn't dodge this attack. He planted his feet firmly on the ground, his expression resolute, and shouted, "Tekkai!"
Hearing the name of the technique Tokikake shouted, Senga directly took a new set of clothes from the Door-Door Space and changed into them.
Finally, with a thud, the referee appeared beside Tokikake, who had fallen out of the ring. Tokikake's eyes were rolled back, confirming he had lost consciousness. The referee turned and raised his hand, shouting, "Vice Admiral Tokikake has lost consciousness! I declare the winner of this match is..."
At this point, the referee swallowed, calmed himself, and then shouted with all his might, "Uchiha Senga!!!"
