From that perspective, the Uchiha seemed to have become the victors, yet no one cared.
Because, like Danzō, the Uchiha's popularity within the village was utterly abysmal.
Countless people hated them enough to gnash their teeth.
Not long after Kazuna left, many people began watching the Uchiha.
They wanted to see whether the Uchiha would make any unusual moves.
If the Uchiha showed even the slightest intention of ascending to the position of Hokage, the Ino-Shika-Cho and the Hokage would likely join forces again to strike at them.
Danzō was frightening, but he had needed to rely on the Hokage. He was essentially the Hokage's subordinate; just like now, once he was dismissed, all his authority vanished.
The Uchiha, however, were powerful in their own right!
Therefore, before leaving, Kazuna ordered Yashiro and the others to keep a close watch on everyone. No abnormal behavior was to occur; anyone who violated the order would be arrested immediately.
Everyone was treated the same. No one would be given any face.
Now that most Jonin and Chunin obeyed Kazuna, the Uchiha strictly followed the orders he had left behind. They maintained the status quo, meddled in nothing, did nothing, cultivated in peace, and helped the elderly, weak, women, and children within the clan.
