Background / History

Old Monster Frenzied Lion arrived at Divine Light Mountain in an extravagant flying beast carriage escorted by Core Formation demons and drawn by four Ink Flood Dragons. He was accompanied by his son, Shi Yu, and was identified as a late Core Formation cultivator. Fairy Ruyue introduced Su Changqing to him as a Guest Elder of the Joyous Union Sect. 82

At Divine Light Peak, Frenzied Lion sought a marriage alliance between Shi Yu and Kong Ling, Divine Light Fairy's daughter. To demonstrate his sincerity, he offered a top-grade fire-attribute spirit stone, a Spirit Gathering Pearl, and a Tribulation Crossing Pill as betrothal gifts. 83 84 Divine Light Fairy declined to force the match, leaving the decision to the younger generation. 85

When Su Changqing declared Kong Ling to be his future Dao companion and presented superior gifts, Shi Yu challenged him and was decisively defeated.
