She raised her hands and gently wiped the tears from Feng Ying's cheeks. Once Feng Ying's intermittent sobs had eased, she took out the straight blade.
"Now you have two choices. I hope you will think them through carefully."
She gripped the straight blade in one hand and held it horizontally before them.
"Give up. Choose to settle for the status quo and leave your fate to Heaven. I will take the blade and leave, and you will forget me, as well as every memory connected to this blade. You will continue being a Fisher Girl who makes her living by fishing."
"Or choose to open your eyes and accept a new fate."
After a pause, she continued.
"Perhaps... you will be able to live a peaceful, tranquil life sooner, without having to keep fighting and killing."
Feng Ying tried hard to suppress her sobs, seeming unable to believe she could ever enjoy peace.
Yu raised her head and looked into the distance. Feng Ying followed her gaze and saw a tiny Sky Pillar holding up the heavens on the far horizon, impossibly high.
She recalled the beautiful, mysterious Dragon Girl. If she could escape that frigid ice cavern, she would surely be able to pacify the world.
As she thought of Sky Pillar Mountain and the ice cavern, her gaze settled on the straight blade, and she vaguely understood what she should do.
She reached out and grasped the scabbard.
Yu smiled, released her grip, and handed the blade to Feng Ying.
"We are going to a very, very distant place. Make arrangements in the village. The valley may be harsher, but at least you can survive there."
"Alright. I'll tell Grandpa Village Chief. Oh, right, will you teach me how to become stronger?"
