Musical Melody

In the morning, her phone showed cloudy skies. Before nine, a fine, drizzling rain began to fall.

City D's weather had once again turned strangely abnormal. Most of the stalls outside the school had closed because of the rain. The Monster Burrito cart bore a notice: 'Day off for summoning wind and rain.' A certain Bai was as honest as ever, possessed of sterling character.

Some corner of the city.

A pair of light-blue sneakers came to a stop.

A gray baseball bat leaned diagonally against the wall beside them. It was not for playing ball.

The view rose to a slender waist, where a small hand tapped the play button on a phone connected to earphones.

Following the earphone cord farther up, a certain Bai wore a baseball cap, her pretty face covered by a silk scarf so that only her eyes showed. Two dragon horns held her headphones in place, her pointed ears angled back as a melody began playing through the headphones.

Her phoenix eyes rolled in a lovely white-eyed glare. Her finger swiftly tapped pause, and she switched into rant mode.

"What the hell? This is what modern people listen to? Was the ranking bought?"

She switched to the next song.

"Whew~"

This song was more like it.

She slipped the phone into her pocket and carefully fastened the button so it would not slide out and break.
