Background / History
Originally a clone of Bai Yujun, the Flood Dragon gained an independent existence after transforming. It felt an unexplained summons directing it away from its former home and toward an unknown duty. 1494
Early in its journey, it was confronted by five cultivators in a rice paddy and accused of causing floods, destroying farmland, and demanding sacrifices. The silver-gray Flood Dragon dismissed them as inexperienced Jianghu newcomers. 1493
It repaired a damaged embankment before traveling through drought-ravaged lands. Avoiding evil spirits and cultivators by moving at night, it observed human survivors struggling around scarce water sources and discovered a small temple devoted to Bai Yujun. 1494
After discovering and destroying a Dragon Vein Nail carried by bandits, it followed its summons to Cloud Ridge. There, it found several nails pinning the Dragon Vein and chose to merge with it despite the danger and immense difficulty involved. 1497
Within a cavern it created beneath the mountains, the Flood Dragon began using its own meridians to untangle and reconstruct the Dragon Vein's disrupted magnetic field. After more than ten days, the Dragon Vein began reviving, drawing cultivators, demons, and armies to the area. 1498 1500
Appearance
The Flood Dragon is a hornless, silver-gray Demonic Beast with a distinctly feral appearance rather than the refined form of a true dragon. 1493 1498
- Silver-gray scales covering its body. 1493 1494
- Long snout, sharp fangs, beast-like claws, and a long tail. 1668
- Bone spurs and hard bony armor along its head, back, and limbs. 1493
- Approximately ten zhang long while crossing the desolate lands. 1494
- Lacks Dragon Horns, distinguishing it from a true dragon. 1498
Personality
The Flood Dragon is blunt, sarcastic, and unimpressed by human assumptions about Flood Dragons. When accused of destructive behavior by cultivators, it responded with exasperation rather than fear. 1493
Though it values comfort, water, and personal safety, it possesses a strong sense of responsibility. It ultimately abandons the option of wandering freely and accepts the demanding task of repairing the Dragon Vein. 1494 1497
It also displays curiosity and empathy toward ordinary people, quietly observing villagers' harsh lives and repairing an embankment without seeking recognition. 1494
“My life is all fate, not a single bit is up to the Flood Dragon... alas...” 1499
Abilities & Skills
Water and Weather Affinity

- Merges its own meridians with the Earth Vein to gradually repair and stabilize the Dragon Vein. 1498

- The work is mentally taxing because it lacks inherited memories and must calculate the magnetic-field patterns from scratch. 1498 1499
Physical Strength and Mobility
Its Flood Dragon body is suited to direct physical action and stealthy travel.
- Trampled bandits who had attacked a village. 1497
- Moves a few feet above the ground with its limbs tucked in, swimming through obstacles in a fish-like motion. 1494 1497
- Uses deadwood, mud pits, darkness, and terrain to conceal itself while traveling. 1494
