Professor McGonagall seemed not to see Umbridge and the others. Facing the students in the front rows, she said, "You all learned the Vanishment Charm in the last lesson and successfully made rats disappear. Today, we will learn the more difficult Cross-species Transformation Charm, which is more profound on the level of magical philosophy—"
"Ahem, ahem."
Professor McGonagall looked coldly toward the back row of the classroom. "Dolores, do you have a question?"

Umbridge pulled a long face, her expression especially exaggerated. "Is that so? Then I truly am sorry."
Turning to the educational commissioners, she said, "This is a classroom full of authoritarianism, where no one may question the authority of the professor teaching the course."
Professor McGonagall's clenched hands began to tremble again.
Speaking of authoritarianism, Umbridge's Defense Against the Dark Arts class was the very pinnacle of it.
And were they whispering? Could they be any louder?
"I hope observers will behave like observers and at least maintain the most basic courtesy."
Professor McGonagall's words struck straight into the students' hearts.
Umbridge was probably the most discourteous and disrespectful person they had ever met.
Standing beside her, even Malfoy, with his notoriously foul mouth, instantly seemed adorable.
